Pay Range

$164,000.00-$225,500.00 Annual

This is the base salary pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire. Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus.

The Plant Manager is accountable for the overall performance of the Spartanburg manufacturing facility, delivering safe, efficient, and profitable operations. Success in this role is defined by measurable improvements in safety, productivity, financial performance, employee engagement, and operational excellence.

Key Performance Outcomes

1. Safety & Environmental Excellence

  • Achieve and sustain zero lost-time incidents and continuous reduction in Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR).
  • Ensure 100% compliance with environmental regulations, permits, and company policies.
  • Lead initiatives that proactively reduce risk and improve workplace safety culture.
  • Maintain a facility that meets or exceeds all internal and external safety audits.

2. Operational Performance & Productivity

  • Deliver year-over-year productivity improvements (e.g., labor efficiency, throughput, and cost per unit).
  • Achieve or exceed production targets, on-time delivery, and customer service goals.
  • Implement and sustain Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent continuous improvement systems with measurable gains.
  • Improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) and reduce downtime through strong maintenance practices.

3. Financial Performance

  • Meet or exceed annual plant budget targets for revenue, cost, and profit.
  • Identify and execute cost-saving initiatives that improve margin performance.
  • Effectively allocate resources and manage plant spending to maintain financial discipline.
  • Deliver ROI on capital investments through increased capacity, efficiency, or product capability.

4. Leadership & Talent Development

  • Build and develop a high-performing leadership team capable of achieving plant objectives.
  • Strengthen bench strength by coaching, mentoring, and succession planning for key roles.
  • Drive employee engagement and retention through a positive, inclusive, and accountable culture.
  • Ensure all performance management activities (reviews, development plans, hiring, and terminations) are timely, fair, and aligned with business needs.

5. Continuous Improvement & Innovation

  • Establish a culture focused on continuous improvement of people, processes, and technology.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives that enhance plant competitiveness and operational scalability.
  • Implement new systems, tools, or processes that improve efficiency, quality, and responsiveness.
  • Track and report performance metrics to drive data-based decision-making.

6. Strategic Execution & Capacity Growth

  • Translate corporate objectives into actionable plant-level strategies and execution plans.
  • Successfully implement capital projects that expand production capacity and capabilities.
  • Align plant operations with Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) to meet business demand.
  • Ensure operational readiness to support growth, new products, and evolving customer requirements.

7. Culture, Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Foster a culture aligned with company values and a commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain strong collaboration across functions including HR, Finance, Supply Chain, and Engineering.
  • Serve as the facility’s representative to external stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and the local community.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, communication, and teamwork across all levels.

Scope of Responsibility

  • Full leadership accountability for plant operations including EHS, HR, Finance, SIOP, Maintenance, Capital Projects, and Distribution.
  • Direct leadership of approximately 100 hourly and salaried employees.
  • Decision authority over staffing, budgeting, capital investments, and operational execution.

Success Profile (Experience & Capabilities)

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years in manufacturing with increasing leadership responsibility.
  • Proven experience leading multi-functional plant operations.
  • Demonstrated success managing teams of 50+ employees (hourly and salaried).

Preferred Experience

  • Prior Plant Manager experience.
  • Experience in capital project management, regulatory compliance, and union-free environments.
  • Strong track record in continuous improvement (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.).

  • Operational Excellence: Deep understanding of manufacturing processes and performance levers.

Working Conditions

  • Office and manufacturing environment exposure (including noise, temperature fluctuations, and physical activity).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and navigate plant floor conditions.
  • Moderate travel (approximately 11–29 days per year).
