OVERVIEW:
Working as Full-time Applications Engineer, you will work directly with Fastenals Director of Engineering in supporting the Fastenal Product Standards Group, Fastenal Manufacturing, Fastenal labs and various industry standards organizations (including ASTM, SAE, ASME, ISO, etc.) to shape product and industry standards that support our global customer base. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
o Providing technical guidance fasteners and related product standards to support customers and the sales team
o Partnering with Fastenal and Fastenal Manufacturing to develop and support product qualification test procedures and methods within an A2LA-accredited laboratory environment
o Representing Fastenal through active participation in industry consensus specification activities
o Collaborating on the development, review and refinement of industry consensus standards
o Developing, maintaining and enhancing Fastenal Product Standards
o Helping to drive projects forward by establishing timelines, managing priorities and delivering work on schedule

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
The following skills and qualifications are required for this position:
o Possess a current full valid driver's license issued in the country where the job is located (including successful completion of any applicable graduated license program for your state or province) as well as the ability to meet our driving record requirements to use a company vehicle, as needed
o Possess a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, or a related field of study
o Excellent written and oral communication skills
o Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency
o Highly motivated, self directed and customer service oriented
o Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities
o Work independently as well as in a team environment
o Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
o Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally
o Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork
o Lift, slide, carry and lower packages that typically weigh 25lbs-50lbs and may weigh up to 75lbs
o Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)

PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
o Possess prior work experience in the Fastener industry

COMPENSATION:
The base pay range for this position is $60,000 - 90,000. In addition to base pay, this position is also eligible for a bonus and/or commission.
