Job Description

Description:

Who we are:

At Habitat for Humanity, we bring people together to build homes, communities, and hope. We believe in a world where everyone deserves a decent place to live. As a nonprofit housing organization, we partner with families in need of affordable homeownership—helping them build and purchase safe, energy-efficient homes. Through partnership hours, financial education, and affordable mortgages, we empower families to achieve strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter.

As a member of the Habitat team, you’ll play a direct role in transforming lives and strengthening communities. We hold high standards for performance and integrity, but our culture is grounded in humility, collaboration, and a deep commitment to our mission. If you're passionate about making a meaningful impact through the power of homeownership, read on!

What you’ll do:

As the Warranty & Rehab Project Manager, you will lead and manage all warranty requests and rehabilitation projects from initial intake through successful completion. You are accountable for defining scope, managing schedules and budgets, ensuring compliance, and maintaining clear communication across owner-occupied and non–owner-occupied properties. This role requires regular site visits, close cross-functional collaboration, and direct engagement with homeowners to ensure work is delivered efficiently, safely, and to Habitat’s quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for warranty requests, bridging communication between homeowners, Warranty Technicians, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Define and manage scopes of work for rehab projects, including budgeting, budgets-to-actuals, and deadline tracking.
  • Conduct regular (weekly) site visits to assess progress, quality, safety, and compliance, documenting work through photos and reports.
  • Partner closely with Homeowner Services and Construction teams to resolve warranty issues and support existing homeowners.
  • Support rehab acquisition and site evaluation efforts by assessing properties, understanding municipal codes, and contributing data for decision-making.
  • Supervise and support the Building Maintenance team member responsible for warranty and maintenance-related repairs.
  • Manage maintenance and repair requests for Habitat-owned buildings and properties.
  • Support funding documentation and reporting requirements related to warranty and rehab work.
  • Drive efficiency, accountability, and follow-through across all rehab and warranty activities.
Requirements:

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and 3–5 years of experience in construction, rehab, or project management.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to coordinate across internal teams, consultants, and public agencies.
  • Highly deadline-driven and accountable, with a track record of owning timelines and deliverables in complex project environments.
  • Comfortable operating with ambiguity and making informed decisions with limited information.
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to pivot under pressure while maintaining a big-picture view.
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a culture of respect and belonging for individuals of all identities and backgrounds.
  • Willingness and ability to spend approximately 40% of time in the field; frequent site visits required (Habitat vehicle provided for site travel).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in construction, rehab, or project management.
  • Understanding of rehab codes vs. new construction codes and building science related to renovations.
  • Design-build or rehab-focused construction experience.
  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
  • Ability to perform basic material takeoffs from plans.
  • Experience with tools such as Microsoft Project, Procore, CAD, or SketchUp.

What we offer:

  • Generous benefits, medical, dental, and vision insurance, 14 paid company holidays, flexible vacation, sick leave, paid family leave, flexible spending account, health savings account, life and disability insurance; Employee Assistance Programs; and 403(b) and SEP savings plans.
  • Vibrant company culture with a focus on innovation and growth.
  • Projects you work on have high visibility and directly impact the families we serve.

The compensation information below is provided in compliance with all applicable disclosure requirements. Base Pay Range: $24.02/hr - $27.00/hr. Actual base pay will depend on varying circumstances, including the position, location, individual qualifications, market finances, and other operational business needs.

At Habitat for Humanity, we embrace a history rooted in creating equity – we take our principles seriously by courageously committing to a culture and workplace where all staff feel safe, welcome, visible, respected, supported, and valued.
