Quality Supervisor in Youngstown, Ohio at Canduct Industries Limited

The Quality Supervisor leads the day-to-day Quality function for the Boardman facility and is responsible for ensuring products, processes, and systems meet customer, regulatory, and company requirements. This role directly supervises Quality Inspectors, oversees site quality performance, and drives continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing defects, improving customer satisfaction, and maintaining compliance with the Quality Management System. The Quality Supervisor partners closely with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, customers, and Corporate Quality to support business objectives and operational excellence.

• Supervise, coach, and develop Quality Inspectors while ensuring adequate inspection coverage to support production requirements.
• Own and monitor overall site Quality performance, including customer complaints, nonconformances, scrap, rework, corrective actions, and key Quality metrics.
• Oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities to ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and company requirements.
• Lead investigations of quality issues using structured problem-solving methods and ensure timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Analyze quality trends and drive initiatives to improve product quality, process performance, and customer satisfaction.
• Lead Quality support for new product introductions, PPAP submissions, control plans, and customer-specific requirements.
• Conduct internal audits and support customer, registrar, and other external audits.
• Maintain systems for nonconforming material control, calibration, quality records, and documented information.
• Develop and deliver Quality-related training and promote a culture of quality throughout the facility.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Corporate Quality to drive continuous improvement and sustain compliance with the Quality Management System.

• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing Quality, Quality Assurance, Inspection, or a related technical field.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection requirements.
• Experience with inspection and measurement equipment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
• Demonstrated ability to lead investigations, drive corrective actions, and work effectively across functional teams.

• Previous leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience.
• Experience working within an ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
• Experience with root cause analysis, corrective actions, customer complaints, and nonconformance management.
• Experience with PPAP, new product introduction, control plans, and manufacturing quality planning.
• Internal Auditor training or certification.
• ASQ certification or related Quality credentials.

• Split time between office and manufacturing environments with regular presence on the production floor.
• Ability to perform inspections and safely navigate a manufacturing setting while adhering to safety and PPE requirements.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and occasionally lift or handle materials, products, or inspection samples.
