Pay Range

$70,200.00-$96,500.00 Annual

This is the base salary pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire. Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus.

The International Logistics and Trade Analyst coordinates and oversees daily export and/or import operations. This position is responsible for supporting Trade Compliance and International functions for Johns Manville’s operations globally by managing the documentation and physical movement of international shipments. The Analyst serves as the primary point of contact within JM and with external service providers, such as customs brokers, freight forwarders, carriers, and other logistics partners, for assigned shipments. The Analyst ensures products move seamlessly from origin to destination with minimal disruption, proactively resolving issues as they arise. Additionally, the Analyst provides feedback and insights to the Manager regarding provider and carrier performance during reviews, bid evaluations, and other performance assessment activities.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate assigned export and/or import shipments from origin to destination, including booking transportation, preparing documentation, tracking shipments, facilitating customs clearance, and managing related activities. Identify and communicate any trade compliance concerns to Leadership and provide proactive communication and coordination among internal and external stakeholders, including freight forwarders, carriers, drayage providers, and manufacturing teams, to align shipment activity with changing business requirements.
  • Monitor and interpret U.S. and international trade regulations, including EAR, ITAR, OFAC, and U.S. Customs requirements, and provide guidance to JM stakeholders.
  • Stay current on regulatory changes, assess operational impacts, and support government audits, inquiries, and investigations.
  • Classify products using Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), Export Control Classification Number (ECCN), and Schedule B requirements, while maintaining an organized classification database.
  • Prepare, review, and audit import and export documentation to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct internal audits and risk assessments related to international trade compliance.
  • Manage and support trade compliance programs, including CTPAT, CARM, and Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) such as USMCA and KORUS.
  • Develop, maintain, and update procedures to align with evolving import and export regulations and maintain trade compliance records and databases.
  • Collaborate with logistics, procurement, legal, engineering, and other functional teams to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Support export licensing and exemption processes and maintain associated tracking and recordkeeping systems.
  • Provide guidance and training on international trade policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and develop strategies to achieve established cost-reduction objectives.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external service providers including assigning freight forwarders and customs brokers to trade lanes.
  • Support freight invoice processing and resolve invoice discrepancies as needed.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports as directed.
  • Lead or assist the Manager with special projects and initiatives as assigned.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements (Education, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, with a minimum of seven 7-10 years of international logistics and U.S. import trade compliance experience.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in international logistics operations, including air and ocean transportation, Incoterms, import and export requirements, customs regulations, product classification, EAR, BIS, DOC, OFAC, CTPAT, and related compliance programs.
  • Working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong customer service, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively within a team environment.
  • Minimal travel required (0-10 days per year).
  • Hybrid work environment consisting of three (3) days in the office and two (2) days remote
