Candidates must be able to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense SECRET security clearance within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Senior Facilities Service Advisor & Project Specialist in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. In this role, you will help keep the facilities and infrastructure supporting critical national-security work safe, reliable, and ready for day-to-day operations. You will work directly with internal customers, technicians, contractors, and leadership to solve facility needs clearly and efficiently.

This is a hands-on coordination role at the center of the Assets & Infrastructure facilities team. You will own the day-to-day flow of service requests and preventative maintenance, ensuring work is understood, prioritized, planned, scheduled, communicated, and closed out properly. You will also coordinate facility projects from early planning through completion, helping deliver work safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with applicable requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary service advisor for the Assets & Infrastructure team, coordinating service requests from intake through completion.
• Work directly with internal customers to understand facility needs, clarify work requirements, communicate priorities, and provide clear status updates.
• Plan, prioritize, schedule, and track service requests with internal technicians and external contractors, balancing safety, urgency, operational impact, and available resources.
• Coordinate the preventative-maintenance program, including scheduling, work-order follow-up, recordkeeping, backlog review, and identification of overdue or recurring work.
• Help maintain accurate asset, work-order, and maintenance information so the team can make sound decisions about reliability, cost, and future work.
• Identify recurring facility issues and recommend practical improvements to service delivery, preventative maintenance, facility reliability, and customer experience.
• Coordinate facility, real-estate, environmental, and infrastructure projects with internal staff, architecture/engineering firms, consultants, and contractors.
• Determine project requirements and coordinate internal staff and outside consultants to ensure projects are completed in accordance with contract, schedule, scope, and budget.
• Inspect construction, installation, and maintenance work for conformance to drawings, specifications, quality expectations, and schedules.
• Communicate project and maintenance risks, priorities, and progress to customers and department leadership.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Strong communication, customer-service, organization, and follow-through skills.
• Understanding of facilities management, building systems, and maintenance practices.
• Experience coordinating service requests, work orders, preventative maintenance, or similar operational work.
• Ability to listen to customer needs, turn them into clear work requirements, and maintain ownership through closeout.
• Ability to prioritize competing requests based on safety, operational impact, urgency, and available resources.
• Working knowledge of project-management methods, scheduling, resource allocation, budgeting, and cost control.
• Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Ability to work collaboratively with technicians, contractors, internal customers, and cross-functional teams.
• Ability to manage multiple requests and projects while adapting to changing priorities.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with attention to detail.
• Proficiency with work-order, maintenance-management, project-management, and other relevant software tools.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Ability to identify practical opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation.

Preferred Degree Types and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in facilities management, construction management, engineering, business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
• Experience in facilities operations, maintenance coordination, service management, construction, project coordination, or a comparable customer-facing technical-service environment.
• Experience with computerized maintenance-management systems or work-order systems is preferred.
• Experience within the MEP trades field work preferred
• Microsoft Office experience required

Combined Salary Range

USD $82,015.00 - USD $88,743.00 /Yr.
