Position Information
The Assistant Director of Academic Affairs provides operational leadership, oversight, and strategic support for academic affairs functions within the School of Medicine. Reporting to the Director of Academic Affairs, the position oversees academic personnel processes, supervises professional and administrative staff, and serves as a subject matter expert on academic policies, procedures, and compliance requirements. The incumbent manages complex academic affairs activities related to faculty recruitment, appointments, promotions, and other academic personnel actions for senate and non-senate faculty and academic appointees. The position collaborates closely with School leadership, department administrators, faculty, and campus partners to support operational effectiveness, ensure compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements, and promote consistent and efficient academic affairs processes across the School of Medicine. This is a hybrid position, with 3 days on campus and 2 days remote. The full salary range for the Assistant Director of Academic Affairs is $93,200 - $174,200 annually. However, the budgeted salary range for this position is up to $113,450 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.
