This role is a senior-level opportunity for an experienced contracts professional to lead the development, negotiation, and governance of complex contractual agreements in a highly regulated environment. You will play a critical role in shaping contract strategy, ensuring compliance, and protecting organizational interests while enabling business growth. Acting as a subject matter expert, you will advise stakeholders across departments on contractual risk, structure, and best practices. The position combines hands-on contract management with leadership responsibilities, including team development and process improvement initiatives. You will collaborate closely with legal, procurement, and business teams to optimize contract lifecycle management. This is a high-impact role where sound judgment, legal understanding, and operational excellence directly influence organizational success.
- Lead the development, negotiation, review, and maintenance of complex contracts including MSAs, NDAs, SOWs, BAAs, amendments, and related documents
- Manage and mentor contract professionals, including hiring, performance management, coaching, and development support
- Identify risks, issues, and opportunities in contract structures and provide expert guidance to mitigate exposure and optimize outcomes
- Partner with legal, sales, procurement, and business stakeholders to align contract terms with organizational goals and regulatory requirements
- Oversee contract lifecycle management processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution of agreements
- Establish and maintain contract standards, templates, and best practices across the organization
- Support process improvement initiatives, system enhancements, and workflow optimization within contract management functions
- Monitor contract milestones, renewals, and anniversaries, ensuring timely follow-up and compliance actions
- Develop and analyze contract-related reports and contribute to strategic contract operations and governance initiatives
- Serve as a subject matter expert providing interpretation of contractual obligations and advising on complex contractual matters
- Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience strongly preferred
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in contract management, legal operations, procurement, or a related field
- Strong expertise in drafting, negotiating, and managing complex commercial or healthcare-related contracts
- Proven leadership experience managing teams, including performance management and professional development
- Deep understanding of contract lifecycle management processes and risk mitigation strategies
- Strong knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks relevant to contract administration
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across legal, business, and operational teams
- Ability to analyze complex contractual language and provide clear, practical guidance
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with contract management systems and process improvement initiatives is highly desirable
