Role Overview
Support on-site safety programs by performing daily safety inspections, monitoring compliance, assisting with incident response and investigations, delivering safety briefings, and promoting safe work practices across construction/industrial sites.
Responsibilities
- Conduct daily site safety inspections and hazard assessments; document findingsand ensure timely corrective actions.
- Enforce site safety rules, PPE requirements, and safe work permits (hot work, confined space, LOTO).
- Monitor and report on subcontractor and vendor safety performance; conductpre-qualification checks as assigned.
- Perform toolbox talks, safety orientations for new hires and visitors, and specialized briefings as needed.
- Assist with incident and near-miss investigations; collect evidence, interview witnesses, and support root-cause analysis and corrective action tracking.
- Maintain safety logs, inspection records, training records, permit documentation, and near-miss/incident reports.
- Support emergency response activities and participate in drills; provide first aid/CPR as needed.
- Measure and report key safety metrics; escalate trends and high-risk issues to supervisor.
- Assist in implementing erosion/spill control and environmental protection measures on-site, as needed.
- Support safety audits and regulatory inspections; ensure corrective action closure.
- Participate in safety meetings and help promote a positive safety culture among crews.
Requirements
- OSHA 30 (within last 5 years)
- Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST)
- CPR/First Aid
Preferred
- HAZWOPER, Confined Space Entry/Rescue, Forklift, or other trade-specific safety certs
