About TKH

Established in 2014, TKH has provided high-tech training to thousands of students from underserved communities across the country. What began as a humble initiative in the South Bronx has blossomed into a national organization delivering programs in Newark, Atlanta, Los Angeles, New York, Connecticut, and Washington, D.C. Our mission is to build a diverse tech workforce by uplifting individuals from the most underestimated and underserved communities. We envision a future where all communities have equal access to employment opportunities in tech across all sectors. The TKH model offers in-demand tech skills training, coupled with comprehensive wraparound services to support each Fellow's journey to career success.

Role Overview

The Teaching Assistant (TA), AI Business Solutions, supports high-quality technical instruction, learner engagement, and success across TKH programs within their assigned region. The TA serves as a regional instructional practitioner who helps execute curriculum, facilitate learning, provide individualized technical support, grade learner work, monitor progress, and foster a supportive learning community that strengthens learner belonging, persistence, and retention across virtual and in-person learning experiences.

Innovation Fellowship (IF) represents a core area of responsibility during the active Fellowship cycle (February through August). Within IF, the TA partners closely with the Lead Instructor and Regional Program Manager to support track execution and serves as a key regional, in-person instructional presence for their technical domain. TAs are expected to lead technical instruction in their region approximately twice per month, delivering lessons and learning experiences designed or approved by the Lead Instructor and adapting facilitation to learner needs while maintaining TKH’s established curriculum, instructional, and program standards.

This is a cross-program regional instructional role. In addition to Innovation Fellowship, TAs support Youth & Community Development programs, Training Solutions engagements, workshops, short-form trainings, recruitment and admissions activities, and other TKH learning experiences where their technical expertise and instructional capacity are relevant. Responsibilities may shift throughout the year based on program cycles, regional needs, and organizational priorities.

The TA reports directly to the Lead Instructor for their assigned technical domain, who oversees instructional responsibilities, technical guidance, performance management, and professional development. The TA also works in close coordination with the Regional Program Manager, who provides direction on regional scheduling, program operations, learner engagement, and community-building activities. TAs are expected to collaborate with both roles to ensure consistent, high-quality instruction, strong learner support, and effective program execution across virtual and in-person learning experiences.
