We blend academic instruction with comprehensive clinical intervention to support students navigating emotional, behavioral, and social challenges. Our mission is to provide holistic care that promotes both psychological resilience and interpersonal growth.
Position Overview
The Therapist at PA plays a vital role in our multidisciplinary team, providing direct clinical support to students within our therapeutic program. This role focuses on delivering high-impact, one-on-one therapy sessions and designing and leading targeted social skills groups to help students build meaningful connections and emotional regulation strategies.
Key Responsibilities
• One-on-One Therapy: Conduct individual therapeutic sessions with students to address personalized emotional, behavioral, and mental health goals.
• Social Skills Instruction: Plan, develop, and facilitate structured social skills groups and instructional programming to improve students' peer interactions, conflict resolution, and communication.
• Crisis Intervention: Provide real-time behavioral support, de-escalation, and therapeutic intervention as needed within the classroom or specialized therapeutic spaces.
• Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Partner closely with Classroom Leads, behavioral staff, and administrative leadership to integrate clinical insights into the students' daily academic schedules.
• Family Engagement: Maintain ongoing communication with parents and guardians to discuss therapeutic milestones, progress, and strategies for at-home reinforcement.
Qualifications & Skills
• Licensure: Valid Ohio clinical license (e.g., LPC, LPCC, LSW, LISW, LMFT).
• Experience:
o Proven experience providing one-on-one therapeutic interventions, preferably with children, adolescents, or young adults.
o Experience leading or instructing social skills groups or group therapy sessions.
o Experience in a therapeutic school, alternative educational setting, or intensive outpatient environment is a strong plus.
• Core Competencies:
o Deep understanding of evidence-based modalities suitable for youth (e.g., CBT, DBT, play therapy, or trauma-informed care).
o Ability to translate clinical goals into practical, interactive social skills lessons.
What We Offer
• Competitive compensation aligned with experience.
• Comprehensive benefits package for full-time staff.
• A highly collaborative, supportive, and dynamic environment where clinicians and educators work hand-in-hand.
• Opportunities for professional development and specialized training in therapeutic educational models.
