Position Description:

Overview:
We are currently hiring a CDL Class A Drivers for our pick-up and delivery (P&D) operations in the Chicago area. The P&D CDL Driver will be responsible for transporting goods and materials to various locations within a 80-100 mile radius from our Northlake, IL terminal. The ideal candidate should have a valid CDL Class A license, a clean driving record, Hazmat endorsements and a strong commitment to safety and customer service.


Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Safely operate a commercial truck (CDL Class A) to pick up and deliver goods within the designated area.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on the truck, such as checking fluids, tire pressure, and lights.
  • Plan and follow the most efficient delivery routes to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
  • Verify delivery information, including addresses, contact details, and quantities, to ensure accuracy.
  • Interact professionally and courteously with customers, communicating any concerns to the dispatch team for resolution..
  • Obtain signatures, or proof of delivery as required.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies to ensure safe driving practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, expenses, and vehicle maintenance.
  • Report any accidents, incidents, or delays to the supervisor or dispatcher promptly.
  • Communicate effectively with the dispatch team, providing updates on delivery status and any changes in schedule or routing.
  • Follow all applicable federal, state, and local regulations regarding transportation and safety.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, including those related to compliance and security.
  • Maintain a clean and organized truck interior and exterior

Qualifications:
  • Minimum High School Diploma/GED required
  • Minimum 23 years of age
  • Class A CDL with Hazmat Endorsement Preferred (or will acquire within 6 months)
  • Minimum of 2 years of Tractor / Trailer experience
  • Knowledge of the greater Chicagoland market
  • Clean MVR
