Senior UX/UI Design Lead

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior UX/UI Design Lead in the United States.

This is a high-impact leadership role focused on shaping the user experience and interface of an unannounced, large-scale multiplayer game in a live service environment. You will define UX/UI strategy from pre-production through ongoing development, ensuring seamless, engaging, and socially connected player experiences. Working closely with game directors, art, design, and engineering teams, you will translate product vision and player needs into intuitive, scalable design systems. The role blends creative leadership with hands-on design execution, including prototyping, user flows, and information architecture. You will also influence feature prioritization and gameplay systems to ensure UX excellence across the product. In addition, you will help build and mentor a strong UX/UI team within a collaborative, cross-disciplinary studio culture.

Accountabilities:
  • Define and maintain the UX/UI development roadmap, aligning design vision with gameplay goals, player needs, and product strategy in collaboration with game leadership.
  • Represent UX/UI in cross-functional discussions, influencing feature prioritization, system design, and player experience across gameplay, social systems, monetization, and live events.
  • Partner with art direction to shape the visual identity and interaction style of the user interface, ensuring consistency between aesthetics and usability.
  • Produce wireframes, user flows, information architecture, interactive prototypes, and detailed UX documentation to align multidisciplinary teams.
  • Drive UX decisions from first principles through research, competitive analysis, playtesting, and user insights in collaboration with research teams.
  • Establish UX/UI standards, design systems, and component libraries to improve scalability, consistency, and production efficiency.
  • Lead and grow the UX/UI team through hiring, staffing strategy, mentorship, and external development partner coordination.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience leading UX/UI design for live service or ongoing multiplayer game products.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating UX/UI work in game environments, including systems, flows, and prototypes.
  • Expert communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly present design decisions and rationale.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration experience with game design, engineering, art, and production teams.
  • Advanced proficiency in tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar design platforms.
  • Ability to create interactive prototypes and detailed technical UX documentation.
  • Strong leadership experience in team building, planning, and design strategy execution.
  • Deep understanding of user-centered design principles and game development pipelines.
  • Experience working within technical constraints and translating systems into player-friendly experiences.
  • Background in multiplayer game design and multi-platform development (PC and console).
Benefits:
  • Competitive base salary ranging from $173,000 to $259,000 USD depending on location and experience.
  • Eligible for annual bonus program based on performance.
  • Comprehensive health coverage including medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching contributions.
  • Paid time off, holidays, and wellness programs.
  • Employee discounts on company products and services.
  • Flexible remote work arrangement depending on role requirements and location.
  • Inclusive, collaborative, and innovation-driven work environment focused on player experience.
