Job Description
This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Robotics MPU & DNPU Field Applications Engineer in the United States.
This role sits at the intersection of advanced robotics, edge AI, and high-performance embedded systems, supporting customers building next-generation autonomous machines such as humanoids, drones, and autonomous mobile robots. You will act as a trusted technical advisor, guiding system architects and engineering teams through the design and deployment of complex compute platforms. The position blends deep hands-on engineering with customer-facing technical leadership in a fast-moving, innovation-driven environment. You will help translate cutting-edge silicon capabilities into real-world robotics solutions spanning perception, navigation, and motion control. Working closely with global sales and engineering teams, you will influence design wins and accelerate product adoption. This is a highly impactful role where your expertise directly shapes how intelligent edge systems are built and deployed at scale.
In this role, you will provide advanced technical leadership across customer engagements, helping design and deploy robotics compute architectures built on MPU and DNPU platforms. You will guide end-to-end system integration and support customers from early design through production readiness, including:
- Leading architecture definition for robotics systems covering perception, localization, planning, and control workflows
- Supporting Linux-based system bring-up, including bootloader, kernel, drivers, device tree, and Yocto integration
- Advising on heterogeneous compute designs combining application processors with real-time microcontroller subsystems
- Conducting hardware/software co-debugging, including schematic and PCB review, lab validation, and root-cause analysis
- Enabling AI and computer vision workloads on edge processors, including model optimization and deployment for inference
- Delivering technical workshops, proof-of-concepts, and on-site customer engagements to accelerate design wins
- Acting as a bridge between customers, sales, and internal engineering teams to ensure successful execution and adoption
Candidates should bring deep expertise in embedded systems and strong experience supporting complex SoC-based platforms in customer-facing environments. You will need both hands-on technical depth and the ability to guide strategic architecture decisions, including:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
- 10+ years of experience in embedded systems or MPU/SoC application engineering with Linux-based platforms
- Strong embedded Linux expertise (U-Boot, kernel, drivers, device tree, Yocto, user-space integration)
- Proficiency in C/C++ and scripting (Python preferred) for embedded development and automation
- Experience with ARM Cortex-A processors and heterogeneous compute architectures with real-time cores
- Knowledge of high-speed interfaces such as PCIe, LPDDR, USB 3.x, MIPI CSI/DSI, Ethernet, and eMMC
- Hands-on debugging skills using lab equipment, schematic/PCB analysis, and signal integrity troubleshooting
- Strong communication skills and ability to lead technical discussions with customers and internal stakeholders
- Willingness to travel within North America and operate independently in a customer-facing role
- Competitive annual base salary ($166,200 – $228,500, depending on experience and location)
- Performance-based incentives and potential equity participation
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance coverage
- 401(k) retirement savings plan
- Paid time off and company holidays
- Flexible work arrangements with a hybrid/remote-friendly approach depending on location
- Opportunity to work on cutting-edge robotics and edge AI technologies
- Career growth within a global leader in intelligent edge and semiconductor innovation
