This senior leadership role shapes how multilingual learner support is embedded across large-scale K–12 instructional materials review systems, directly influencing curriculum quality and equity in education nationwide.
You will lead the vision, strategy, and execution of multilingual learner (MLL) review frameworks that ensure instructional materials provide meaningful access to grade-level learning for all students.
Operating at the intersection of education research, product development, and field leadership, you will guide cross-functional teams in building rigorous, evidence-based evaluation tools.
You will oversee MLL review teams, manage consultants and budgets, and ensure alignment across content areas to maintain consistency and rigor in published reports.
The role also involves representing the organization externally, engaging with publishers, funders, and national education stakeholders to influence curriculum improvement.
This is a highly strategic and mission-driven position for an experienced leader passionate about equity, instructional quality, and systemic educational impact.
- Lead the strategy, vision, and multi-year roadmap for multilingual learner (MLL) instructional materials reviews across K–12 content areas.
- Oversee the design, refinement, and execution of MLL review frameworks, ensuring alignment with research-based practices and grade-level access standards.
- Manage and coach MLL Leads and consultants, setting clear expectations, supporting professional growth, and ensuring high-quality outcomes.
- Partner with product and research teams to develop, pilot, and improve tools and systems used in instructional materials evaluation.
- Ensure consistent integration of an MLL lens across all content reviews, driving alignment, calibration, and cross-team coherence.
- Manage budgets, consultants, and grant-funded workstreams while ensuring efficient and strategic resource allocation.
- Engage with publishers and external stakeholders to communicate findings and influence improvements in instructional materials.
- Represent the organization in national education forums, partnerships, and field initiatives focused on multilingual learner equity.
- 8+ years of experience in K–12 education, nonprofit leadership, or state education systems, with significant focus on multilingual learners.
- 3+ years of experience managing or leading teams, ideally in complex, multi-stakeholder or mission-driven environments.
- Deep expertise in second language acquisition theory, biliteracy frameworks, and English Language Proficiency (ELP) standards.
- Strong experience supporting equitable access to grade-level instructional materials for multilingual learners.
- Proven ability to design or refine frameworks, tools, or systems grounded in research and evidence-based practice.
- Experience managing budgets, consultants, and cross-functional initiatives in a strategic leadership capacity.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to align diverse stakeholders and drive consensus.
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently in remote or distributed environments while managing multiple priorities.
- Bachelor’s degree in education, linguistics, or related field (or equivalent experience); advanced degree preferred.
- Experience engaging with curriculum publishers or instructional materials development is a plus.
- Competitive salary ranging from $102,824 to $139,114 annually, aligned with experience and internal equity practices.
