This role is a unique opportunity to build a talent function from the ground up within a fast-scaling, high-growth environment. You will operate as the first dedicated hiring leader, shaping every aspect of how the organization attracts, evaluates, and hires top talent across all functions. The position combines strategic ownership with hands-on execution, requiring someone who is equally comfortable sourcing candidates directly as well as designing scalable hiring systems. You will work closely with founders and senior leaders to define hiring standards, establish a strong employer brand, and create a world-class candidate experience. This is a foundational role with direct impact on the company’s ability to scale effectively across all teams.
- Own end-to-end recruitment across all functions including engineering, product, sales, customer success, growth, operations, and leadership roles, ensuring high-quality hires at every level.
- Build the entire talent acquisition infrastructure from scratch, including ATS setup, sourcing strategy, interview frameworks, scorecards, calibration systems, and hiring analytics.
- Run full-cycle recruiting operations hands-on, including sourcing, outreach, screening, coordination, negotiation, and closing, while maintaining high hiring standards.
- Partner closely with founders and hiring managers to define role requirements, calibrate talent bar, and ensure alignment on hiring priorities and expectations.
- Develop and execute proactive sourcing strategies that go beyond inbound applications, leveraging outbound outreach, referrals, communities, and creative sourcing channels.
- Own the end-to-end candidate experience, ensuring a consistent, high-quality journey aligned with company values and culture.
- Build and evolve employer branding and hiring narratives to support long-term talent attraction and scaling efforts.
- Implement data-driven recruiting practices, tracking pipeline health, conversion rates, time-to-hire, and quality-of-hire metrics to optimize hiring performance.
- Establish scalable systems and processes that will serve as the foundation for future expansion of the talent acquisition team.
- 5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, ideally within high-growth startup environments (Seed to Series C stage).
- Proven ability to hire across multiple functions, including technical, GTM, and leadership roles, with a strong track record of successful closes.
- Experience building or significantly contributing to talent acquisition functions from an early stage, with a strong “founding recruiter” mindset.
- Strong sourcing expertise with the ability to identify and engage passive candidates without relying heavily on inbound applications or agencies.
- Demonstrated success as a strong closer, with deep understanding of candidate motivation, negotiation dynamics, and competitive hiring processes.
- High judgment in evaluating talent, with the ability to quickly calibrate hiring standards across different roles and teams.
- Strong data orientation, with experience using recruiting metrics to guide decisions and improve hiring outcomes.
- Comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments with shifting priorities and direct founder collaboration.
- Strong bias for action, speed, and execution quality in all aspects of recruiting operations.
