This role offers the opportunity to lead a high-impact data engineering organization focused on transforming complex healthcare data into reliable, scalable, and analytics-ready systems. You will oversee teams responsible for building and maintaining critical data integrations that power clinical intelligence and revenue optimization across healthcare organizations. Operating in a fast-paced, remote-first environment, you will balance strategic leadership with hands-on technical guidance to ensure delivery excellence. Your work will directly influence the speed and quality of client onboarding, data reliability, and operational efficiency. You will collaborate closely with Product, Clinical, Data Science, and Engineering stakeholders to align priorities and deliver measurable outcomes. This is a highly visible leadership role where strong execution, data governance, and operational rigor are essential to success.
Lead and develop a team of data and analytics engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the design, build, and maintenance of scalable ELT pipelines for healthcare data including EHR, clinical, and claims datasets.
- Define and enforce data modeling standards, governance practices, and enterprise-wide data definitions to ensure consistency and reliability.
- Drive client integration delivery by implementing automation, reusable frameworks, and standardized onboarding processes.
- Establish and monitor SLOs/SLAs, ensuring system reliability, performance, and operational excellence across data workflows.
- Build and maintain data quality, testing, and observability frameworks covering schema validation, reconciliation, and lineage tracking.
- Manage operational workflows including ticket triage, escalation handling, resource allocation, and stakeholder communication.
- Partner cross-functionally to prioritize roadmaps, resolve tradeoffs, and ensure timely delivery of high-impact data initiatives.
7+ years of experience in data engineering, including leadership responsibilities such as mentoring engineers, managing delivery, and hiring talent.
- Strong expertise in SQL, data modeling, and building scalable ELT pipelines using tools such as dbt, Airflow, Snowflake, and Python.
- Experience working with healthcare data, including clinical, EHR, or claims datasets; familiarity with HL7/FHIR standards is highly valued.
- Proven ability to design and operate reliable, production-grade data systems with strong observability and incident management practices.
- Demonstrated success in improving client onboarding speed through automation, standardization, and repeatable integration frameworks.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align technical and non-technical teams.
- Hands-on leadership mindset, comfortable contributing technically to unblock teams and improve delivery outcomes.
- Experience in fast-growing or scale-up environments is a strong advantage.
