About the Role:
As a Hotel Guest Room Attendant at the Springhill Suites in Gaithersburg, you will play a vital role in ensuring that every guest experiences a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment during their stay. Your primary focus will be to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and orderliness in guest rooms and public areas, contributing directly to guest satisfaction and the hotel's reputation. You will be responsible for thorough cleaning, replenishing supplies, and reporting any maintenance issues to ensure rooms are fully prepared for new arrivals. This role requires attention to detail, efficiency, and a commitment to hospitality excellence, as you will be one of the key team members shaping the guest experience. Ultimately, your work will help create a positive and memorable stay for all guests, supporting the overall success of the hotel.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Basic understanding of cleaning procedures and use of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in housekeeping or a similar role within the hospitality industry.
- Familiarity with safety and sanitation standards applicable to hotel environments.
- Ability to operate housekeeping technology such as inventory management systems.
- Multilingual skills to assist a diverse guest population.
- Customer service training or experience.
Responsibilities:
- Clean and sanitize guest rooms, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, and cleaning bathrooms to meet hotel standards.
- Replenish guest room supplies such as toiletries, towels, and beverages to ensure guest comfort and convenience.
- Inspect rooms for maintenance issues and report any damages or safety hazards to the appropriate department promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of housekeeping carts and storage areas to optimize workflow efficiency.
- Respond courteously to guest requests and inquiries, providing assistance or directing them to the appropriate hotel staff.
