You will collaborate closely with technologists, providers, and clinical staff, maintain imaging equipment in good working order, and adhere to all regulatory and departmental protocols. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, patient-focused professional seeking flexible, part-time hours in a clinical imaging environment.

What You'll Do

  • Position patients and adjust equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Verify patient identity, review orders for accuracy, and confirm exam indications prior to imaging.
  • Apply proper radiation safety principles, including appropriate use of collimation, shielding, and exposure settings.
  • Prepare, operate, and monitor X-ray equipment, reporting any malfunctions or concerns to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record and imaging systems.
  • Assist in maintaining exam rooms, imaging areas, and equipment in a clean, organized, and ready-for-use condition.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, families, providers, and fellow staff members regarding procedures and expectations.
  • Follow infection prevention and control policies, including proper use of PPE and cleaning protocols between patients.
  • Support workflow of the X-Ray department by prioritizing exams, assisting colleagues, and adapting to changing clinical demands.
  • Comply with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, as well as organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Participate in ongoing training, competency assessments, and quality improvement initiatives related to imaging services.

Qualifications

  • Active state Limited X-Ray Machine Operator (LXMO) or equivalent limited-scope radiography license, in good standing.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an approved limited X-ray or radiography training program.
  • Demonstrated competence in performing limited-scope radiographic examinations within licensed modalities.
  • Knowledge of basic radiographic anatomy, positioning, exposure techniques, and radiation safety principles.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, imaging protocols, and provider orders with high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications and willingness to learn electronic medical record and imaging software.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to provide courteous, professional patient care.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist with patient positioning for extended periods; ability to lift and move equipment and assist patients as required.
  • Availability to work part-time, hourly, on a per diem basis, including variable shifts as needed by the department.
  • English language proficiency sufficient to communicate effectively with patients, staff, and providers, and to read and document in the medical record.
