About the Role:
We're on a mission at Dow Jones to provide the world's most trusted journalism, data and analysis to help people make decisions. As part of the company's global communications team, you'll play a key role in delivering against a strategic, comprehensive communications playbook that leverages executive voices and key milestones to support the Dow Jones narrative and drive brand authority. This role is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day execution of communication strategies that support multiple Dow Jones business areas and initiatives in support of the company's consumer brands, including The Wall Street Journal, Barron's, MarketWatch and Investor Business Daily.
The ideal candidate will have experience in internal and external communications, extensive knowledge of the ever-evolving media landscape and a passion for informing audiences through clear and creative storytelling. The ideal candidate will also bring sharp news judgment and a newsroom mentality to the team, with the ability to spot a story idea, pivot quickly and execute media campaigns with precision. This position reports to the Director of Communications.

You Will:
- Contribute to the development and implementation of a comprehensive communications strategy that supports business goals and includes finding creative, non-traditional ways to connect key milestones to the broader Dow Jones story.
- Collaborate with the Director of Communications to meet the communications needs of internal stakeholders and act as a trusted partner to senior leaders, drafting executive briefs and preparing them for media interactions and industry events.
- Lead the effort to streamline content creation across all channels, including the Dow Jones Press Hub and LinkedIn account. You will ensure the team moves toward executing integrated 360-degree campaigns where every piece of content reinforces the larger mission, transforming our owned channels into a dynamic engine for brand storytelling.
- Draft and edit communications plans, press releases, executive briefs, social media content and other promotional materials to publicize achievements across Dow Jones, including subscription milestones, product launches, partnership announcements, award achievements and more.
- Be adept at interacting with the media, leveraging and building relationships that support the broader Communications team's efforts to ensure our story is told.
- Draft content for and manage BU-specific communications, including materials for internal town halls, newsletters, executive messaging and more.
- Execute and refine social media strategies by creating engaging copy, graphics, and vertical video content that amplifies the Dow Jones narrative across all primary social channels.
- Generate and update media lists for timely pitching.
- Track and record all external placements and compile regular media reports for leadership.
- Manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines without sacrificing quality.
You Have:
- 5+ years of experience in public relations, communications, or related field
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple campaigns at any given time
- Strong news judgement with ability to multitask and meet deadlines
- Strong writing and presentation skills with the ability to distill complex business data into compelling stories
- Excellent project management skills and a solution-oriented mindset
- Social media experience, including developing and supporting social strategy, drafting copy, creating and editing graphics and vertical video.
- Enthusiastic team player
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, global company
- Experience with crisis communications and reputation management
- Experience working in news or the media industry
- Established relationships with reporters covering media, advertising and technology
- Proficiency with Muck Rack, TVEyes, project management workflows and other media monitoring systems
