Job Summary:

The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for the facilitating daily work activities at the Walton Hills Location. This position will coordinate and manage individual work efforts regarding process controls, standard work, workflow, work shifts and employee direction & management on night shift. The following key areas represent management responsibility

Responsibilities:

• All direct management of Shipping Dock Personnel
• Hourly Shipping Employee Performance Reviews
• Hourly Shipping Employee Work Schedules / Shifts / Breaks
• Hourly Shipping Employee Required Staffing Levels
• Hourly Shipping Employee Vacation Planning
• Hourly Shipping Employee Daily Standard Workflow
• Shipping Skills Matrix by Employee
• Shipping Lead Continual Training Program
• Coordinate Packaging
• Utilization of Work Instructions, Visual Aids and Standard Operating Procedures for the purpose of training and supervising the packaging of all out bound product to prevent damage.
• Manage Loading
• Utilization of Work Instructions, Visual Aids and Standard Operating Procedures for the purpose of training and supervising the loading of all out bound product. Including the off-loading of returned containers
• Delivery Planning
• Coordinating delivery schedules with JBH Manger, Logistics Manager, CDM Supervisor and Customer Service when needed.
• Maintain and update communications board
• Departure reporting
• Metrics and Reporting
• Use Fenivison reports and other tools to manage and report company metrics for on time delivery
• Managing Staging Area
• Maintain organization of staging areas by customer and or route
• Paperwork accuracy
• Assure paperwork is audited and accurate before loading
• Coordinate Efforts with CDM Team

Qualification and Skill Requirements:

• Prior shipping supervision required
• 2 years technical training and/or 2 years’ experience in related industry, or 5 years related industry experience.
• Effective communication skills.
• Effective problem-solving ability, both electrical and mechanical.
• Excellent leadership skills.
• Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including mandatory overtime and off-shifts.
