Expert Systems Engineer

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an Expert Systems Engineer in India.

This is a highly specialized technical role focused on deep Citrix performance engineering, where you will act as the key expert driving investigation and resolution of complex logon and session performance issues across large enterprise environments. You will analyze end-to-end Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops behavior, identifying root causes behind performance degradation and transforming insights into scalable best practices. Working within a Citrix Customer Experience function, you will leverage advanced diagnostic tools, telemetry data, and AI-assisted analysis to improve system performance at scale. The role requires strong technical depth across Citrix, Windows, networking, and cloud environments, combined with a passion for solving intricate performance challenges. You will also contribute to building methodologies, playbooks, and automation that uplift the entire engineering team. This is a high-impact position where your expertise directly improves user experience across global enterprise customers.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead deep technical investigations into Citrix logon and session performance issues, analyzing all phases of the logon process to identify root causes across complex enterprise environments.
  • Perform advanced diagnostics using Citrix Director, Wireshark, Azure Log Analytics, Power BI, and other monitoring tools to correlate data and uncover systemic performance bottlenecks.
  • Analyze and optimize Windows Group Policy (GPO) configurations impacting Citrix environments, ensuring alignment with best practices and minimizing logon delays.
  • Investigate network, authentication, profile, and HDX-related performance issues, including proxy/WPAD behavior, drive mapping, and session startup inefficiencies.
  • Design and maintain diagnostic methodologies, playbooks, and runbooks to standardize troubleshooting and improve engineering efficiency across teams.
  • Mentor and support other systems engineers by sharing expertise, reviewing complex cases, and elevating overall technical capability.
  • Leverage AI and automation tools to analyze configuration data, identify patterns, and accelerate root cause identification across large datasets.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (XenApp/XenDesktop) in large-scale, multi-site enterprise environments.
  • Expert-level understanding of Citrix logon architecture, including session startup, brokering, HDX, authentication, GPO processing, and profile loading phases.
  • Strong expertise in Windows Group Policy (GPO) design, troubleshooting, and performance optimization in Citrix environments.
  • Experience with performance monitoring and diagnostic tools such as Citrix Director, Wireshark, Azure Log Analytics, and Power BI.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to correlate multi-source data (logs, telemetry, dashboards) to identify complex root causes.
  • Experience with FSLogix, Citrix profile management, HDX optimization, and enterprise session tuning is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell or Python) for automation, configuration analysis, and data extraction.
  • Familiarity with Azure-hosted Citrix environments, networking concepts, and enterprise proxy configurations (WPAD, auto-proxy).
  • Experience mentoring engineers and documenting technical findings into scalable processes or playbooks.
  • Citrix CCE-V certification or equivalent deep expertise is a strong plus.
