This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced medical coding professional to lead and optimize coding operations within a highly collaborative healthcare environment. The PB Coding Supervisor will oversee coding workflows, ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, and support the delivery of accurate and timely billing processes. Working closely with internal teams and external coding vendors, this position plays a key role in maintaining operational efficiency, minimizing claim issues, and supporting revenue cycle performance. The role combines leadership responsibilities with hands-on operational oversight, making it ideal for professionals who thrive in fast-paced, technology-driven healthcare settings. - Supervise the daily activities of coding staff and external coding vendors to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely coding and billing processes.
- Monitor coding workflows, work queues, denials, and claim edits to maintain operational efficiency and revenue cycle performance.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies as well as federal, state, and local healthcare regulations and coding standards.
- Collaborate with coding vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve coding issues and improve overall workflow management.
- Oversee compliance audits and ensure corrective actions and quality standards are consistently maintained.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to coding teams to support productivity, accuracy, and professional development.
- Assist leadership coverage and operational continuity as needed, supporting departmental goals and initiatives.
- Contribute to process improvements and operational strategies that enhance coding quality and efficiency.
- Associate’s degree required, or equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or CCS-P certification required.
- Minimum of 3 years of coding experience within a highly computerized hospital or healthcare environment.
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience with demonstrated ability to manage teams and workflows effectively.
- Strong understanding of professional billing, coding regulations, claim management, denials, and compliance processes.
- Experience working with coding vendors and coordinating cross-functional healthcare operations is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Current Washington State driver’s license required.
- Competitive salary range of $77,480 – $111,467.20 USD annually.
