This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Staff Product Manager, Foundations based in United States.

You will partner closely with engineering teams, product leaders, and customers to define long-term investments and deliver measurable value.

Accountabilities:

The Staff Product Manager, Foundations will own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for a core data platform that supports business-critical products and customer experiences. This role requires balancing technical platform investments with customer and business needs while enabling teams to build efficiently and scale effectively.

  • Define and execute the roadmap for foundational data platform capabilities, partnering with engineering teams to prioritize durable investments and long-term scalability.
  • Collaborate with product teams to understand platform requirements, anticipate future needs, and create solutions that support current and future product development.
  • Drive platform strategy by establishing clear priorities, sequencing initiatives, and aligning stakeholders around key business and technical outcomes.
  • Make informed tradeoffs between feature delivery, platform stability, scalability, and operational excellence.
  • Promote adoption of platform capabilities by enabling internal teams, improving contribution models, and encouraging effective platform usage.
  • Engage directly with customers to understand complex platform requirements and identify opportunities to improve product outcomes.
  • Develop a forward-looking platform vision that supports future growth, AI-powered capabilities, and evolving business needs.
  • Define success metrics, measure platform impact, and track outcomes related to scalability, enablement, reliability, and performance.
  • Support engineering teams and technical leaders responsible for building and maintaining the data platform.
  • Establish strong communication practices across product, engineering, and business teams to ensure alignment and transparency.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings significant experience building and scaling technical platforms, strong product leadership capabilities, and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business outcomes.

  • 6+ years of product management experience supporting platform teams, preferably focused on data platforms or data products.
  • Proven experience building and scaling new platforms from early stages through long-term growth.
  • Strong ability to independently define product direction, establish priorities, and drive execution with engineering partners.
  • Experience creating platform roadmaps with clear goals, sequencing, success metrics, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Deep understanding of data platform concepts, including data pipelines, databases, storage systems, querying, APIs, and related technologies.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers on complex technical decisions while communicating clearly with non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience using data to guide product decisions and measure business impact.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills with cross-functional teams.
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments where processes and structures are continuously evolving.
  • Customer-focused approach with the ability to connect technical investments to measurable outcomes.
  • Experience using AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, and product development workflows.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
