About the Position

Conduit Power is on a path to supplement our Nation’s power generation system with reliable and dispatchable generation in ways that reduces carbon footprint and accelerates the transition to clean, renewable energy.

Conduit Power is seeking a Network Engineer to support the communications and connectivity infrastructure that enables reliable operation of distributed generation assets, field technology, monitoring systems, and corporate networks.

This role will focus on enterprise networking, OT networking, asset connectivity, cybersecurity, telecommunications, and network performance across both corporate and operational environments. The ideal candidate will possess strong networking fundamentals and experience supporting industrial or utility environments where uptime, reliability, and secure communications are critical.

You will:

Enterprise and Operational Technology Networking

  • Manage routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless networks.
  • Maintain network documentation, diagrams, standards, inventories, IPAM/IP Schema.
  • Experience configuring and supporting enterprise networking platforms with Fortinet.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot network performance, connectivity issues, and communication failures.
  • Support WAN, LAN, SD-WAN, BGP, cellular, and remote-site communication technologies.
  • Configure, maintain, and support communication networks and industrial networking equipment connecting generation facilities, SCADA systems, PLCs, RTUs, HMIs, historians, and field equipment.
  • Assist with deployment of secure remote access capabilities for field assets.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Engineering teams to ensure reliable communication between assets and centralized monitoring systems.
  • Develop and maintain IT/OT segmentation aligned with the Purdue Model.
  • Manage cellular communications, LTE/5G deployments, and remote asset communications, Verizon SIM/carrier management and private APNs are a plus.

Cybersecurity & Infrastructure

  • Implement network security policies and best practices informed by NERC CIP and ISA/IEC 62443 standards.
  • Support firewalls, network segmentation, VPN security, and remote-access controls.
  • Assist with monitoring and responding to network-related cybersecurity events.
  • Participate in vulnerability remediation and infrastructure hardening initiatives.
  • Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning.

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Network Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4–8 years of experience supporting enterprise networking, infrastructure, telecommunications, or operational technology environments.
  • Must have strong knowledge and experience with TCP/IP, routing/switching, VLANs, hands-on FortiGate, cellular WAN, VPN, basic Modbus TCP/DNP3.
  • Experience configuring and supporting enterprise networking platforms such as Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Aruba, Meraki, or similar technologies.
  • Experience supporting multi-site or distributed environments, including cloud connectivity and remote asset communications.
  • Familiarity with operational technology and industrial networking concepts, including SCADA communications and protocols such as Modbus TCP, DNP3, OPC-UA, MQTT, or IEC 61850.
  • Familiarity with Ignition SCADA, Moxa Converters/Serial Servers, Media Converters, and Fiber.
  • Knowledge of network security, firewalls, segmentation, cybersecurity best practices, and infrastructure hardening.
  • Industry certifications such as Fortinet NSE 4+ (preferred), CCNA, CCNP, or Palo Alto certifications are a plus.
  • Experience in power generation, utilities, energy infrastructure, manufacturing, or other industrial environments is highly desirable.
  • Strong troubleshooting, project coordination, documentation, and communication skills.
  • This is an onsite position based in Houston, Texas. Candidates must be willing and able to work from the Houston office Monday through Thursday. This role may require occasional travel to field locations, generation facilities, and project sites to support networking and infrastructure initiatives (10-25% travel).
  • Position requires on call assistance to support critical networking infrastructure troubleshooting and downtime.
