Job Summary

Responsible for conducting and documenting engineering tests to verify and validate product performance, reliability and safety, and compliance with applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Principal Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Conduct product testing in accordance with series of standards and test protocols applicable for wheelchairs
• Interpret standard requirements and translate them into appropriate test methods and fixtures
• Develop and maintain test fixtures, test equipment, instrumentation and data acquisition systems used for product testing
• Analyze test data and evaluate results against engineering specification and acceptance criteria
• Investigate test failures and product issues using root-cause analysis
• Prepare clear and technically accurate verification and validation test reports
• Coordinate and support testing performed by external laboratories and certification agencies
• Collaborate closely with R&D to develop test procedures and test protocols.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• Experience in engineering testing preferred
• Experience with measurement equipment and instrumentation preferred
• Ability to collect, analyze and interpret data
• Strong technical writing skills, including preparation of test reports
• Ability to safely operate and maintain laboratory and test equipment
