Position SummaryThe Day LTL Driver (Class B) is responsible for the safe, timely, and professional pickup and delivery of Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) freight while operating Company Class B commercial vehicles. This position ensures customer freight is transported, handled, and delivered accurately while maintaining compliance with Company policies, DOT regulations, customer requirements, and all applicable safety standards.
Working under the direction of the Driver Lead and Operations Manager, the Day LTL Driver (Class B) performs daily vehicle inspections, safely operates assigned equipment, communicates operational updates, and assists in the successful execution of daily transportation operations. Drivers are expected to represent Hawaii Pacific Freight with professionalism while protecting customer freight, Company equipment, and the Company's reputation.
The Day LTL Driver (Class B) owns the safe operation of assigned equipment, the care and security of customer freight, and the successful completion of assigned delivery routes.
Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesTransportation Operations- Safely operate Company Class B commercial vehicles in accordance with all federal, state, and Company regulations.
- Complete assigned pickup and delivery routes safely, accurately, and efficiently.
- Verify freight before loading, unloading, and delivery.
- Load, unload, secure, and transport freight using proper handling techniques.
- Ensure deliveries are completed according to customer requirements and service commitments.
- Maintain communication with Dispatch and Operations throughout the workday.
- Report delays, accidents, equipment concerns, customer issues, or service interruptions promptly.
- Provide professional and courteous customer service during every customer interaction.
- Obtain required delivery documentation and customer signatures.
- Communicate professionally regarding deliveries, pickups, and customer requests.
- Represent Hawaii Pacific Freight in a positive and professional manner.
- Complete required pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Complete Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs) accurately and on time.
- Report equipment defects, maintenance concerns, and safety issues immediately.
- Maintain assigned vehicles in a clean and professional condition.
- Follow Company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment.
- Complete delivery paperwork accurately and timely.
- Maintain required DOT documentation.
- Comply with all FMCSA, DOT, OSHA, and Company requirements.
- Follow customer-specific operating procedures and documentation requirements.
- Protect confidential Company and customer information.
- Coordinate with Dispatch, Warehouse, Fleet, Customer Service, and Operations personnel.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and freight staging as operational needs require.
- Support operational efficiency through teamwork and communication.
- Perform other transportation-related duties as assigned.

- Immediate safety concerns.
- Communication of operational issues to Dispatch or Operations.
Questions involving accidents, customer disputes, policy interpretation, route changes with significant operational impact, equipment failures, or safety incidents should be communicated promptly to Dispatch or the Operations Manager.

The successful candidate should demonstrate:
- Valid Hawaii CDL Class B Driver License.
- Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate.

- Ability to lift, move, and secure freight safely.
- Ability to work independently while following Company procedures.
- Ability to meet all DOT and Company qualification requirements.
