Job Description

Description:

Medication Support Specialist I — Entry-Level Pharmacy Support

Start your healthcare career in a role built for growth. No pharmacy experience required — we train you.

Why this role

This is a real first step into healthcare, not a dead-end desk job. You'll support patients, providers, and pharmacy staff while learning how medication workflows actually work. Do it well, and there's a clear path up to Medication Support Specialist II.

We're looking for dependable, detail-oriented people who want to grow — not just clock in.

What you'll do

  • Greet and help patients in person and by phone
  • Answer routine prescription and process questions (and route clinical ones to licensed staff)
  • Prepare refill requests and keep patient records accurate
  • Manage calls, messages, and follow-ups so nothing falls through
  • Keep documentation organized and audit-ready
  • Help stock supplies and flag low inventory early

This role works under supervision and does not perform licensed pharmacy technician or pharmacist duties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong communication and people skills
  • Attention to detail and basic computer skills
  • Ability to keep information confidential (HIPAA)
  • A genuine interest in building a healthcare career

Preferred:

  • Enrolled in or completed a Medical Assistant or healthcare program
  • Customer service or healthcare experience
  • Familiarity with medical terminology or EHR systems

Where this leads

Strong performers move up to Medication Support Specialist II — taking on e-prescribing support, prior authorizations, and inventory management with more independence. We support your growth with on-the-job training, mentorship, and regular feedback.

What we offer

  • Competitive pay based on experience
  • Clear promotion path
  • Paid training and mentorship
  • Full benefits package
