Job Description
Metal Fabricator will support our chimney operations by fabricating high-quality, custom metal components used in chimney and venting systems. This role focuses on precision sheet metal work, proper fit and finish, and attention to detail. No welding is required; components are assembled using riveting and mechanical fastening methods. The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on fabrication, values safety, and takes pride in producing clean, durable finished products.
Key Responsibilities:
Fabricate custom chimney components including chimney caps, flashing, chases, covers, liners, and specialty metal parts.
Cut, bend, shape, and assemble sheet metal using shop tools and fabrication equipment.
Assemble components using rivets and mechanical fasteners (no welding required)
Work with materials such as stainless steel, galvanized steel, copper, and aluminum
Read and interpret work orders, measurements, and basic drawings.
Ensure all fabricated parts meet Chim Chimney quality, safety, and craftsmanship standards.
Communicate with operations and field teams to confirm specifications and timelines.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
Perform basic equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Drive company vehicle safely from shop to sites as needed.
Requirements:Qualifications:
Experience in sheet metal fabrication or metal assembly preferred - NO WELDING REQUIRED
Ability to read measurements and fabricate with precision.
Comfortable using rivet guns, hand tools, and shop equipment.
Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Valid Driver's License.
Preferred Experience:
Chimney, HVAC, roofing, or construction-related fabrication experience
Experience with custom, made-to-order fabrication work --- NO WELDING REQUIRED
Forklift experience or willingness to be trained.
Pride in craftsmanship and consistency
Work Environment
Shop-based fabrication environment
Exposure to metal dust, noise, and sharp edges
PPE required at all times in fabrication areas.
