Job Description
Primary Function: Perform a variety of engineering and IT assignment regarding production/efficiency reporting, monitoring systems, and project management. Job responsible for supporting BGF business systems, operational reporting tools, manufacturing technologies, and continuous improvement initiatives. Interface closely with Information Technology, Industrial Engineering, ERP Systems, Manufacturing Operations, and Business Intelligence teams to assist with system support, operational reporting, process improvement initiatives, and project coordination activities that support operational efficiency and business objectives.
Will be required to travel and work in all BGF facilities as necessary for short periods of time.
Machines/Tools/Equipment Used:
Personal Computer, Calculator, Fax, Copier, M3 Access, AS400, BARCO and CAD.
Job Responsibilities:
- *BARCO technical support, report development, and maintain M3 and BARCO compatibility.
- *Provide support for scheduling to help maintain capacity planning in BARCO
- *Provide assistance to the Process Engineers as needed to design, implement, and maintain production equipment set-up specifications sheets.
- *Redesign, convert, and maintain reporting systems for efficiency, production, speeds, and operator performance, set lengths, etc.
- *Monitor production stock entry from BARCO for various departments.
- *Maintain effective communications with I.E. department, plant, and company associates.
- *Maintain building and department blueprint on CAD system, including production machinery inside plant, and property.
- *Provide project management for machinery installation and relocation as needed.
- *Provide troubleshooting when necessary for various applications.
- *Responsible for providing a safe work environment.
- *Assist with day-to-day support activities for ERP systems, BARCO, manufacturing applications, and reporting tools.
- *Support user account setup, access requests, and basic system administration tasks.
- *Troubleshoot and resolve basic application, reporting, and system issues.
- *Assist with maintaining and improving operational reports and dashboards.
- *Support software testing, upgrades, and system enhancement projects.
- *Develop and maintain user procedures, documentation, and training materials.
- *Support manufacturing reporting systems and operational data collection activities.
- *Assist with tracking production reporting, efficiency metrics, and operational performance indicators.
- *Participate in process observations and workflow improvement activities.
- *Support operational and manufacturing system troubleshooting efforts.
- *Participate in continuous improvement activities related to productivity, quality, safety, and efficiency.
- *Assist with cross-functional operational and IT projects.
- *Support project planning, task tracking, and implementation activities.
- *Participate in Lean Manufacturing and process improvement initiatives.
- *Assist with identifying opportunities for reporting enhancements and process automation.
- *Conduct process analysis, work measurement studies, and operational improvement initiatives.
- *Maintain department and facility layouts utilizing CAD systems.
- *Coordinate machinery installation, relocation, and manufacturing systems projects as required
- *Perform other assignments as Directed.

Physical Requirements:
(x) Standing May be up to 10 hours per day on wood or concrete floor
(x) Sitting As require to perform tasks; frequency up to 50 times/shift or all day as necessary
(x) Moving Throughout Department and other departments to collaborate on issues; up to 30 times/shift – as far as 1200 feet in one direction
(x) Climbing As required to go from one level to another; up to 50 times/shift, using stairs, step stool & ladders as necessary
(x) Lifting As required to assist others; Anything over 50 pounds requires assistance; frequency may be 500 times/shift for filing and manual tasks
(x) Push/Pull May be 500 times/shift; Files, drawers, etc. & assist others
(x) Reaching Reach through three body zones and around body; Frequency may be 200 times/shift; weighing up to 20 pounds – EX: Boxes of files, etc.
(x) Visual Acuity Prepare data and enter into PC; required to detect color; minimum of 20/40 corrected eyesight
(x) Bending/Stooping Depending on assignment may be up to 100 times/shift
(x) Hearing Adequate to communicate over telephone and in person
(x) Other May be required to operate a motor vehicle self-sufficiently to travel as necessary
Environmental/Safety Risk Requirements:
Exposure to Fiberglass, fly, dust, finishing fumes or other chemicals. Must be able to wear Personal Protective
Equipment as required by job/task; Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses and Hearing Protection which is not an inclusive list
Mandatory Prerequisites:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business,
Analytics, or related field. Recent graduate or up to two (2) years of related internship or professional experience.
Internship, co-op, or project experience in manufacturing, operations, analytics, or IT preferred. Experience with CAD
systems. Basic understanding of business systems, databases, or ERP systems. Proficiency with Microsoft Office
applications, especially Excel. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal
skills. Ability to learn new systems and technologies quickly. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Preferred:
BS degree in IE Systems Technology or Computer Science plus 5 years IE or Computer Science experience in a
manufacturing environment.
Assessments: Medical – Vision corrected to 20/20, color perception, drug screen and Hearing to normal speech
