Bauer Foundation Corp. is seeking a motivated Estimator to join our growing team. The Estimator plays a critical role in preparing comprehensive and accurate estimates across various contract types, including lump sum and time-and-material agreements. This position involves reviewing bid specifications and drawings to ensure a thorough understanding of project requirements, enabling the submission of competitive and successful bids. Additionally, the Estimator will proactively engage with clients to seek feedback on proposals, fostering strong relationships and refining future submissions.
Reports to: Southeast Business Unit Vice President
Position: Full Time
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8AM-5PM
Location: Tampa, FL & Atlanta, GA (Occasional travel is required to attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, conferences, etc.)

Job Summary:
The Estimator plays a critical role in preparing comprehensive and accurate estimates across various contract types, including lump sum and time-and-material agreements. This position involves reviewing bid specifications and drawings to ensure a thorough understanding of project requirements, enabling the submission of competitive and successful bids. Additionally, the Estimator will proactively engage with clients to seek feedback on proposals, fostering strong relationships and refining future submissions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed project cost estimates.
- Foster relationships with key Clients.
- Communication with subcontractors and suppliers
- Attend on-site pre-bid/proposal conferences and site visits.
- Develop and review subcontractor scopes of work and accept, review, and analyze subcontractor quotes for best value.
- Prepare project bid status reports and ensure compliance with all specifications and contract Statements of Work and Bid Invitations
- Present cost estimates to meet customer proposals, providing consideration for general and special conditions.
- Prepare scope specifications and requirements, prepare and inputs project schedules, perform quantity take-offs, prepare cost summary sheets, and input quantities into estimating software.
- Maintain an accurate, current database cost codes of accounts for historical data.
- Utilize the appropriate company and industry historical data for pricing estimates.
Requirements:
- Project estimator skills that include performing basic engineering calculations, being familiar with engineering terminology and effectively communicating with Engineers, Project Managers, and vendors.

- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

- Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Project, Power Point, Word, Outlook).
- Preferred knowledge of AutoCAD
