About the Role:
Large Nephrology practice seeks a Clinical Assistant for its Catonsville, MD office. The Clinical Assistant plays a vital role in supporting healthcare professionals by ensuring the smooth operation of clinical activities and delivering high-quality patient care. This position involves assisting with patient preparation, managing clinical documentation, and facilitating communication between patients and medical staff. The Clinical Assistant contributes to maintaining a safe, clean, and organized clinical environment, which is essential for effective healthcare delivery. By performing administrative and clinical support tasks, the Clinical Assistant helps optimize workflow efficiency and enhances the overall patient experience. This role requires a compassionate, detail-oriented individual dedicated to supporting both patients and healthcare teams in a dynamic clinical setting.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- CPR/BLS Certification
- Proof of Flu Vaccine
- Ability to comply with patient confidentiality and healthcare privacy regulations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification as a Medical Assistant or Clinical Assistant.
- Experience with Allscripts, Veradigm, and EMR
- Previous experience working in a clinical or healthcare environment
- Familiarity with medical billing and coding processes
Responsibilities:
- Assist healthcare providers with patient preparation and clinical procedures as directed
- Record and update patient medical histories and vital signs accurately in electronic health records
- Schedule patient appointments and manage clinical documentation to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinical areas and medical equipment to uphold safety standards
- Facilitate effective communication between patients, healthcare providers, and administrative staff to support coordinated care
