Project Details (Size, SOW, Site Background, etc.):
APSI is currently seeking a Scheduler I to join our corporate team in Irvine, CA. This is an in-house position supporting APSI’s corporate staff and internal project scheduling needs.
The Scheduler I will work under the guidance of senior staff to assist with planning, scheduling, and progress tracking across multiple projects. Responsibilities will include maintaining and updating project schedules, tracking project progress, assisting with schedule and progress reporting, and coordinating with internal teams to help maintain accurate project information.
This position provides hands-on experience with Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling, construction scheduling, and project controls in a collaborative environment.
Daily Responsibilities:
Work closely with senior staff to track project timelines, update schedules, and support the overall planning effort. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with regular updates to project schedulesHelping prepare reports on progress, cost, and timelines (including cash flow tracking)Supporting schedule reviews and updates from contractors and internal teamsUtilizing and configuring construction project portfolio management software to create and update Critical Path Method (CPM) schedulesAnalyzing and reviewing Time Impact Analyses (TIA) to understand the impact of delays or changes on CPM schedulesPerforming earned value analysis at various stages of the project lifecycleConducting forensic schedule analysis to support the evaluation of construction claims or potential schedule impactsPerforming on-site monitoring to help verify actual progress against reported progressAssisting in the coordination of the change order process, including identifying scope changes from RFIs and preparing change order packages for approvalParticipating in regular construction project status meetings and collaborating with project teams on schedule-related itemsLearning to create “what-if” scenario schedules based on project changes. Occasionally supporting senior team members or stepping in to cover tasks as needed
Required Qualifications (Experience, Education, Certifications, Clearances, etc.):
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field2+ years of relevant experience in construction scheduling Proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office SuiteFamiliarity with Bluebeam or other project review toolsInterest in working on large, complex building projects Self-starter with a proactive, results-oriented mindset and a willingness to take on additional responsibilities
- Previous work experience as a schedulerVery good knowledge of construction means and methods, sequencing, and strong knowledge of Oracle P6, including MS Office Suite and BluebeamExperience or exposure to healthcare, hospital, or public sector construction projectsA basic understanding of construction processes and sequencing. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and tools like Bluebeam
