We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate, and service-oriented Part-Time Lifestyle & Hospitality Assistant to join our team at Fellowship Village in Basking Ridge, NJ.

This position plays an important role in creating meaningful experiences for our residents through engaging programs, social opportunities, events, and personalized support. The ideal candidate enjoys working with older adults, brings positive energy and creativity to their work, and understands the importance of hospitality and creating a welcoming community.

Position Overview

Position: Part-Time Lifestyle & Hospitality Assistant
Location: Fellowship Village – Basking Ridge, NJ
Pay Rate: $17.50 per hour
Hours: Approximately 28 hours per week

Schedule includes:

  • Two evenings per week: 1:00 PM – 7:00 PM
  • Every other weekend: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Every other Friday or Monday: 8-hour shift

The Lifestyle & Hospitality Assistant supports programs and experiences designed to enhance residents’ quality of life, encourage social interaction, promote engagement, and foster a strong sense of community. This role works closely with residents and the Lifestyle & Hospitality team to provide activities and experiences that reflect residents’ interests, abilities, and preferences.

Key Responsibilities

Lifestyle Programming & Resident Engagement

  • Assist with planning, organizing, and implementing a variety of recreational, social, educational, cultural, and lifestyle programs
  • Encourage resident participation and create an engaging, welcoming atmosphere
  • Assist in identifying residents’ interests and preferences to support meaningful programming
  • Provide personalized assistance to residents participating in programs and events
  • Adapt activities when appropriate to accommodate varying abilities and needs
  • Promote social interaction, independence, emotional well-being, and a sense of purpose

Hospitality & Events

  • Assist with community events, entertainment, celebrations, and special programs
  • Help prepare activity and event spaces before programs and assist with breakdown afterward
  • Welcome residents and guests and provide a high level of hospitality throughout programs and events
  • Help ensure programs begin on time and run smoothly
  • Support evening and weekend programming as scheduled
  • Help create a positive, energetic, and inclusive environment for residents and guests

Team Collaboration & Support

  • Work closely with the Lifestyle & Hospitality Director and team members to coordinate programs and resident experiences
  • Communicate resident feedback, interests, and needs to the appropriate team members
  • Collaborate with other departments, families, volunteers, and community partners as appropriate
  • Maintain accurate participation records and other program documentation as required
  • Assist with maintaining program materials, supplies, and activity areas
  • Follow all Fellowship Village policies, procedures, safety standards, and confidentiality requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience working with older adults, individuals with disabilities, or within a senior living, hospitality, recreation, community, or care environment preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Friendly, outgoing, compassionate, and service-oriented
  • Organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple responsibilities
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team
  • Ability to engage comfortably and respectfully with older adults
  • Creativity, patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude
  • Must be able to work the required evening and every-other-weekend schedule

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in senior living, recreation, activities, hospitality, lifestyle programming, or a related field
  • Knowledge of recreational or life-enrichment programming
  • Experience planning or supporting events and group activities
  • CPR and First Aid training
  • Background or education in recreation, hospitality, gerontology, social work, psychology, or a related field
  • Experience adapting programs for individuals with different physical or cognitive abilities
