About The Role

We are seeking a Full-Time Medical Assistant to join our Medical Assistant department in an hourly, full-time capacity. In this role, you will support our providers and clinical team by performing both clinical and administrative duties, including EKGs, venipuncture, injections, and assisting with procedures. You will interact directly with patients, ensuring a safe, efficient, and compassionate care experience while maintaining high standards of clinical quality, safety, and confidentiality. This position requires flexibility to work weekends and an active BLS certification.

What You'll Do

  • Perform clinical tasks including EKGs, venipuncture, injections, and assistance with in-office procedures according to established protocols
  • Prepare patients for exams and treatments, including taking vital signs, documenting medical history, and updating electronic health records
  • Assist providers during examinations and procedures by setting up equipment, preparing supplies, and ensuring a clean and safe environment
  • Accurately document patient encounters, treatments, and procedures in the medical record in a timely manner
  • Maintain exam rooms and clinical areas, ensuring cleanliness, proper stocking of supplies, and adherence to infection control standards
  • Follow established clinical workflows, safety protocols, and HIPAA guidelines to protect patient privacy and safety
  • Provide patient education and instructions as directed by providers, ensuring patients understand follow-up care and treatment plans
  • Support patient flow by coordinating rooming, communicating wait times, and assisting with scheduling follow-up appointments when needed
  • Collaborate with nurses, providers, and other team members to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care
  • Work scheduled shifts, including weekends, as part of the clinic’s operational needs

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar clinical support role
  • Proficiency with basic clinical skills including EKG, venipuncture, injections, and assisting with procedures
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Willing to travel to other South Bay Clinic Locations
  • Ability and willingness to work weekends as part of a full-time schedule
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Knowledge of standard clinical procedures, infection control practices, and patient safety protocols
  • Comfort with electronic health records (EHR) and basic computer skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks, and maintain attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a professional, compassionate, and patient-focused demeanor
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move between exam rooms for extended periods and occasionally assist with patient positioning or transfers, as appropriate to the role
