Job Summary:

This position works directly under the supervision of the Toddler Program Teacher

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Additional duties may be assigned)

• Support use of assistive technology devices (including hearing aids, glasses, adaptive seating and communication devices)
• Assist with positioning in seating and play
• Assist with movement around the room
• Facilitate choice making and play through presentation of developmentally appropriate materials
• Facilitate communication with peers
• Participate in planning meetings regarding communication, motor, and adaptive needs of students and contribute in the development of goals and strategies in these areas
• This position will work under the guidance and instruction from the TOD, SLP, OT, PT, TVI, and assistive technology specialist

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or GED

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

ASL skills helpful, but not necessary Equipment, Machines and Software Used:

None

Physical and Mental Requirements:

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger, grasp, handle, reach, push, pull or feel, crouch, kneel, bend, balance, talk, hear and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Medium work - exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Environmental Conditions:

Work is performed in a program setting where there is no substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
