THE OPPORTUNITY
Stop Soldier Suicide is seeking a data-savvy and detail-oriented Development Coordinator to play a vital role in advancing the organization's revenue growth for our lifesaving mission. Reporting directly to the VP of Development, this position supports the development team by ensuring accurate gift recording, acknowledgments, and the seamless operation of fundraising programs. The Development Coordinator will also provide essential technology support, contributing to the growth and sustainability of Stop Soldier Suicide’s donor engagement efforts and fundraising initiatives. This role is central to the success of the organization’s mission-driven fundraising activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Gift Processing and Reconciliation 40%
- Receive, record, process, and reconcile all check gifts, entering gift details into Salesforce within 48 hours of receipt.
- Enter ACH gifts received by email into Salesforce as commitments received, then close them as won once payment is confirmed in the shared tracking document, updating the tracking sheet to reflect any action taken.
Acknowledgements and Donor Stewardship 25%
- Prepare and send acknowledgement letters within 48 to 72 hours of receiving a gift.
- Pull the weekly tribute gift report for in honor and in memory gifts from FundraiseUP each Monday. Send the first tribute letter immediately, then send a follow-up letter once five additional gifts arrive for an honoree, or an update letter after two weeks reflecting whatever gifts have come in.
- Capture donor stories submitted alongside gifts and upload them to the stories folder for the marketing team to use.
Salesforce Records and Data Hygiene 20%
- Upload letters, gift information, prospect profiles, and other attachments to the files tab of the appropriate Salesforce account record.
- Record planned giving interest marked on direct response forms in the designated spreadsheet.
- Verify and update solicitation contacts' names, titles, addresses, phone numbers, and birthdays in Salesforce.
Donor Services and Inbox Management 15%
- Manage the info@, development@, and donations@ inboxes along with FundraiseUP donor requests, supporting donors with payment method changes, monthly gift cancellations, challenge sign-ups, and similar needs, or routing messages to the right team member.
- Apply labels to emails in the development@ and donations@ inboxes to show what action was taken and keep the team visible on status.
