Business Development Representative (Mid-Atlantic)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Business Development Representative (Mid-Atlantic) based in the United States.

This role is an opportunity to accelerate growth within a cybersecurity-focused organization by building strong prospect relationships and creating new business opportunities. As a Business Development Representative, you will partner closely with sales and marketing teams to identify, qualify, and develop high-value leads across enterprise accounts. You will play a key role in connecting customers with security solutions that address evolving business risks and technology challenges. This position combines consultative selling, strategic outreach, and relationship-building within a fast-growing environment. The ideal candidate is motivated by sales success, continuous learning, and the opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven cybersecurity business.

Accountabilities
  • Partner with Account Executives and business development teams to create targeted outreach strategies, including account lists, messaging approaches, focus solutions, and growth opportunities.
  • Identify, engage, qualify, and manage sales leads and opportunities through CRM and marketing automation platforms.
  • Build relationships with prospective customers and support Account Executives in developing strong client partnerships.
  • Conduct consultative conversations to understand customer challenges, business goals, and technology needs.
  • Learn security technologies, industry solutions, and partner offerings to effectively communicate their value to prospects.
  • Create personalized email and call outreach campaigns aligned with customer segments, events, and business priorities.
  • Support marketing initiatives by increasing attendance and engagement for events, campaigns, and customer activities.
  • Represent the organization professionally in customer interactions and communicate areas of expertise effectively.
  • Capture prospect insights, requirements, and feedback to support sales strategy and opportunity development.
  • Track performance metrics, analyze results, and present business development outcomes and ROI insights to leadership.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to improve lead generation strategies and contribute to revenue growth.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of inside sales experience within the IT industry, preferably with experience in cybersecurity or information security.
  • Proven experience generating leads, opening new accounts, and exceeding sales targets.
  • Experience managing sales opportunities using CRM platforms such as Salesforce.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise security solutions, technology partnerships, and customer business challenges.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to engage customers at multiple organizational levels.
  • Experience selling professional services, security assessments, or consulting solutions is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and opportunities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to learn and leverage AI-enabled tools to improve productivity and sales effectiveness.
  • Preference for candidates located in PA, NJ, DE, VA, MD, DC, or NC.
