CR-EHS Engineer in Alajuela at Theragenics Corp

We're Hiring | EHS Engineer

📍 El Coyol. Alajuela, Costa Rica.

At Theragenics Costa Rica, we believe a strong EHS culture is fundamental to operational excellence. We're looking for an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Engineer who is passionate about protecting people, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting the continued growth of our medical device manufacturing operations.

In this role, you will:

✔ Ensure compliance with Costa Rican EHS regulations and corporate standards.
✔ Sustain and continuously improve our Environmental, Health & Safety Management System.
✔ Lead incident investigations, risk assessments, and corrective actions.
✔ Coordinate regulatory inspections, permits, and environmental compliance activities.
✔ Drive safety initiatives, employee training, emergency preparedness, and contractor safety.
✔ Partner with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Facilities, HR, and Supply Chain to integrate EHS into daily operations and new business initiatives.
✔ Support facility expansion projects and manufacturing growth while ensuring EHS requirements are incorporated from design through implementation.
✔ Develop and monitor EHS KPIs that drive a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement.

We're looking for:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related EHS discipline.
• 3+ years of EHS experience in a multinational manufacturing environment.
• Experience in highly regulated industries such as Medical Devices, Pharmaceuticals, Electronics, or Automotive is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Costa Rican environmental and occupational health regulations.
• Advanced English communication skills.
• A proactive professional with excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
