What You Will Do
- The Project Success program is a comprehensive, after-school tutorial and enrichment child care program which serves children five to fourteen years of age
- The program is designed to serve children who are in protective custody and are referred by the Department of Children and Family Services
- Under supervision of a Specialist/Teacher, the Child Care Assistant supports two important aspects of the program:
- Direct program delivery - implementing lesson plans, supporting tutoring, leading learning centers, assisting with snacks and meals, etc. And safe transportation of students to and from the program
- Child care assistants ensure a safe, secure environment that provides meaningful cultural, social, educational, and recreational activities for all program participants

High school diploma or equivalent.
Possession of credentials required by Illinois Department of Children and Family Services for employment as a Child Care Assistant. (Upon offer/hire: DCFS background check, DCFS medical clearance, required trainings)
Preferred Qualifications:
Valid Illinois drivers license with no restrictions
Interest and ability to relate to elementary age children as well as adults, parents, and other personnel
Ability to follow instructions and work without strict supervision as the job demands
Prior experience with youth in DCFS care or similar/related experience

Illinois Residency Requirement : Pursuant to the State Universities Civil Service System, out-of-state candidates must establish Illinois residency within 180 calendar days of the start date for this position.
Illinois residency requires proof of a valid Illinois Drivers License or state of Illinois ID Card. Failure to produce the required documentation within 180 calendar days is grounds for immediate separation.
