Sommelier
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Sommelier to join our dynamic hospitality team. The ideal candidate will have a refined palate, excellent customer service skills, and a deep understanding of wine and beverage pairings. This role offers an exciting opportunity to enhance our guests' dining experience through expert wine recommendations and personalized service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curate and maintain an extensive wine list, ensuring a diverse and high-quality selection
- Assist in directing the Cellar Society events, wine ordering, and pairings
- Work alongside our Culinary Director, Events Manager & Clubhouse Manager to directly impact the wine program, the beverage program, Cellar society and the member experience
- Assist the team in operating within the Cellar Society Budget
- Assist the team with creation of individual P&L’s for all upcoming events related to the Beverage Program and Cellar Society
- Assist guests in selecting wines that complement their meals and preferences
- Provide expert advice on wine storage, serving techniques, and food pairings
- Conduct wine tastings and educate staff and guests about different varieties and regions
- Manage inventory, including ordering, stock rotation, and proper storage
- Ensure proper presentation and serving of wines in accordance with safety and quality standards
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop wine and food pairing menus
- Stay updated on industry trends, new wines, and emerging regions
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Sommelier or in a similar role within the hospitality industry
- Extensive knowledge of wine, spirits, and beverage service standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Certification from a recognized wine or sommelier program (e.g., Court of Master Sommeliers, WSET) is preferred
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
