Workday Adaptive Planning Architect

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Workday Adaptive Planning Architect based in India.

This role is focused on leading the design and delivery of advanced Workday Adaptive Planning solutions for complex, global enterprise environments. You will act as a key technical authority, architecting scalable financial planning models that enable organizations to improve forecasting accuracy, data visibility, and decision-making. Working in a highly specialized Workday ecosystem, you will lead full-cycle implementations from discovery through go-live, ensuring strong alignment between Adaptive Planning, Workday Financials, and HCM systems. The role requires deep technical expertise in modeling, integrations, and reporting, combined with the ability to manage multiple high-impact initiatives independently. You will also play a mentorship role, helping elevate the capabilities of junior consultants and shaping internal best practices. This is a high-ownership position for someone who thrives in complex architectural challenges and wants to directly influence enterprise planning transformation.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead the end-to-end architecture and delivery of Workday Adaptive Planning implementations, from scoping and discovery through deployment and post-go-live support
  • Design and configure complex multi-dimensional models, structures, sheets, and dashboards to support enterprise planning needs
  • Ensure seamless integration and data alignment between Workday Adaptive Planning, Workday Financial Management, and HCM systems
  • Architect and implement data integrations between Workday and external systems using advanced ETL and integration methodologies
  • Develop and maintain Workday reports and data models supporting financial and operational planning requirements
  • Oversee data flows, system configurations, and planning logic to ensure accuracy, scalability, and performance
  • Mentor and support junior consultants while contributing to internal knowledge sharing and best practices development
  • Manage multiple high-complexity projects independently while ensuring delivery quality and stakeholder alignment
Requirements:
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Workday Adaptive Planning, including advanced modeling, configuration, and dashboard development
  • Strong expertise in building and maintaining complex planning models, including sheet and structure modeling
  • Proven experience integrating Workday Adaptive Planning with Workday Financials and HCM systems
  • Solid understanding of Workday reporting, including financial and operational data extraction and analysis
  • Strong experience designing and implementing system integrations using ETL and data transformation approaches
  • Advanced Excel proficiency, with the ability to translate complex data structures into actionable insights
  • 7+ years of experience in enterprise planning, FP&A systems, or Workday consulting environments
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects independently in high-complexity, fast-paced environments
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong focus on stakeholder management and collaboration
  • Proven mentoring and leadership abilities, with a willingness to support and develop junior team members
  • Preferred: Experience in large-scale enterprise Workday deployments and post-go-live optimization
