About the role
The Die Setter plays a critical role in supporting efficient and safe manufacturing operations by performing mold changeovers, machine startups, and process adjustments on injection molding equipment. This position is responsible for hanging and removing molds, completing setup and changeover activities, troubleshooting basic process and secondary equipment issues, and helping ensure production schedules, quality standards, and productivity targets are achieved. Responsibilities also include maintaining accurate production documentation, identifying maintenance needs, supporting continuous improvement efforts, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This is a second shift position. The standard schedule is Monday-Friday, 2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.
What you'll do
- Hang and remove tools from injection molding machines.
- Shutdown injection molding machines.
- Perform accurate and efficient process changeovers.
- Assist in effectively troubleshooting process and secondary equipment problems.
- Maintain proper documentation of productivity and quality as required.
- Submit work order requests for maintenance issues.
- Determine team assignments.
- Maintain a safe work environment by cleaning up work stations.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Mechanical aptitude and experience using basic hand tools
- Excellent basic math skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and written.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Ability to operate basic technology.
- Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced work environment.
- Willingness to complete training and higher-education courses.
Desired Qualifications
- Completion of outside plastics courses
- Ability to create new setups.
- Strong working knowledge of computers and applications.
- Prior work in a manufacturing environment.
The pay range for this role is:
20.19 - 22.71 USD per hour(Albion, MI)
