Behavioral Health Supervisor (BH): TEAM

Position Statement:
The BH Supervisor is chartered with leading, managing and developing our team of behavioral health specialists. This team directly impacts the wellbeing of our clients and their families on a daily basis, assisting and supporting them through some of life’s most difficult situations.
The BH Supervisor will aid with consultation and case management, support planning, resource alignment, and referrals. The BH Supervisor will work closely with patient advocacy, care coordination, and wellness teams to develop the most effective plan for the individual. They will also engage in remote or on-site counseling as needed on a short-term basis. In the event of a “critical incident” the BH supervisor will ensure timely engagement, determine the optimal response, and assign the appropriate resources to support the clients’ immediate needs.
Key Responsibilities:
· Daily leadership and management of counseling specialists
· Organizational communication
· Coaching, development, and training of staff
· Model best-in-class skills and behavior.
· Effectively collaborate across all functional teams within the organization
· Professionally represent the organization in client facing settings.
· Provide evaluations and recommendations when clients are referred on a required or formal basis by employers.
· Provide professional management consultation to account stakeholders (e.g., HR, Safety Manager, Business Agent…)
· Facilitate referrals and appointments with best-in-class providers and support client engagement.
· Demonstrate critical thinking and flexibility working under pressure and in crisis situations.
· Maintain accurate case notes, dates of services and chart the data from the session, evaluation, and plan on a timely basis.
· Keep accurate record of time spent in direct service to clients as well as peripheral services such as checking collateral or researching appropriate referrals.
Ethics Adherence:
· Uphold ethical principles of practice domain, e.g., psychology, marriage and family therapy, professional counselors, social work, alcohol, and drug counselors.
· Adhere to mandated reporting for state and federal statutes.
· Observe HIPAA regulations for client records and confidentiality. Accurately represent training, credentials, and competencies
· Accurately and clearly communicate to clients all terms of confidentiality.
Personal and Organization Development:
· Participate in continuing education programs and certifications.
· Maintain professional licenses/credentials.
· Remain current with new developments in the industry including the mental health fields of psychiatry, social work, marriage and family therapy, and chemical dependency.
Qualifications & Skills:
· Master’s Degree preferred in corresponding field with active license to provide clinical services for mental health and substance-use disorder.
· Understanding of Substance Use Disorder and Crisis Management
· 3+ years of experience providing Counseling services.
· Ability to demonstrate de-escalation skills, cultural competency, and high emotional intelligence.
· Successful history of leading, managing and developing teams and individuals.
· Previous experience with client-facing roles, engagement, or training a plus
· Computer skills: Excel, Word, Outlook, and electronic medical records software.
· Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
This position is full-time, in office, Monday-Friday, with occasional after-hours crisis management. On call rotation is shared with colleagues. Occasional travel is required for training and client presentations. The BH Supervisor's salary is $85,000 - $100,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience.
