Summary of Position:

The Repair Station Coordinator is responsible for leading the FAA-certified repair station in accordance with 14 CFR Part 145. The position is accountable for and oversees the Repair Department, which is responsible for processing military and commercial cargo system component repairs. The Repair Station Coordinator will coordinate the activities of the repair station technicians to ensure compliance with the required internal and governmental regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the proper equipment and controls are in place to perform repairs in a compliant and consistent manner.
  • Ensures efficient collaboration and coordination between departments to deliver products on time, on cost, and on quality.
  • Ensure that technical data on articles overhauled or repaired by the Repair Station are secured and kept current with the latest revisions.
  • Daily tracking and reporting of safety, quality, velocity, and cost metrics for production teams.
  • Provide detailed periodic repair department summary reports, to include information on product reliability.
  • Manage the process of conducting preliminary, hidden damage, in-process, and final inspection of articles processed by this Repair Station and ensure results are recorded.
  • Coordinate the staff and resources to ensure the availability of documents authorizing repairs, tests and/or calibrations. Oversees the process of tagging and identification of parts.
  • Maintains the preservation of all articles or parts that are subject to deterioration and shelf-life specifications and conducts quarterly audits of the materials.
  • Performs monthly audits on calibration equipment.
  • Review, revise, and execute all aspects of the Repair Station Quality Control Manual (RSQCM), to maintain compliance with FAA 14 CFR Part 145.
  • Review, revise, and execute all aspects of the Repair Station Training Program Manual (RSTPM), to ensure that all RS personnel receive the required Training.
  • Effectively communicate with the FAA in maintaining the 14 CFR Part 145 Repair Station and all associated duties required to operate a Certified Repair Station.
  • Certify and sign off on work performed by other authorized repair persons.
  • Be the main point of contact for the customer.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

  • Demonstrated leadership skills in a manufacturing environment

  • Organizational, project and time management skills are essential.
  • Excellent analytical skills along with demonstrating a strong work ethic and technical abilities.
  • Demonstrated Aerospace Repair experience
  • Experience with ERP systems and product flow

Qualifications:

  • Must have the ability to obtain a US export License under ITAR regulations.
  • Must possess, or be eligible to receive, an FAA Repairman certificate, as outlined in 14 CFR Part 65
  • Must be able to exercise final return-to-service authority on behalf of the Repair Station
  • Must be at least 18 years of age due to FAA regulations.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in aircraft maintenance or repair station operations
  • 2-3 years of supervisory or lead inspection experience in a certified repair station is preferred
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant license preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Experience with increasing responsibilities
  • Aerospace or Industrial experience preferred

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, lift, and bend within/around processes.
  • Use hands to feel/touch parts.
  • The Employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
  • Maneuvers in, around, under, and about factory and/or laboratory equipment on a regular and continuous basis
  • Must be able to perform lifting operations including jobs that may have some heavy lifting up to 40 lbs. by self. Load(s) greater than 40 lbs. require a minimum of 2 employees to lift. Any load weighing 80lbs or more will require the use of a material handling device such as a hoist or a forklift.
