Part Time Quoter in Midvale, Utah at SRV Refrigeration

The HVACR Quoter is responsible for preparing accurate, timely, and competitive quotations for commercial and industrial refrigeration, HVAC, and mechanical projects. This role works closely with customers, sales representatives, vendors, engineering, and project management to develop estimates that meet customer requirements while maintaining company profitability. The Quoter must possess strong technical knowledge of HVACR equipment, materials, and installation practices and be able to interpret plans, specifications, and customer requests.

• Prepare accurate quotes and estimates for HVACR equipment, parts, service, and installation projects.
• Review customer requests, blueprints, specifications, and bid documents to determine project requirements.
• Perform equipment selections using manufacturer software and engineering guidelines.
• Obtain vendor pricing and negotiate costs when appropriate.
• Prepare material take-offs and labor estimates.
• Ensure all quotations meet company pricing standards and profit margin goals.
• Coordinate with Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, and Operations to verify project scope and pricing.
• Identify value engineering opportunities to provide cost-effective solutions for customers.
• Respond promptly to customer inquiries and quote revisions.
• Maintain accurate quote records within the company's CRM or ERP system.
• Follow up on outstanding quotations to support the sales process.
• Stay current on HVACR products, technologies, manufacturer updates, and industry pricing trends.
• Support continuous improvement of estimating processes and pricing databases.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree or technical training in HVACR, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Construction Management preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in HVACR, refrigeration, mechanical contracting, estimating, or inside sales.
• Strong understanding of commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Experience with estimating software, ERP systems, or CRM platforms.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Experience quoting commercial refrigeration systems.
• Familiarity with manufacturers such as Copeland, Danfoss, Hussmann, Heatcraft, Sporlan, Emerson, Carrier, Trane, or Daikin.
• Knowledge of refrigeration controls, piping components, and electrical requirements.
• Understanding of construction bidding processes

• Primarily office-based work.
• Ability to sit for extended periods while using a computer.
• Occasional visits to customer sites or job sites may be required.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
