International Operations
The International Account Manager plays a critical role in managing the day-to-day execution of global freight for assigned customer accounts. This role blends operations, pricing, and relationship management—owning the shipment lifecycle from quote to delivery while driving strong financial performance.
Success in this role means building trust with customers, making smart market-based decisions, and consistently delivering profitable, high-quality service. You’ll operate at the center of the action—partnering closely with Sales, carriers, and global agents to keep freight moving and customers informed.
What You’ll DoCustomer Management & Pricing
- Own day-to-day freight management for assigned customer accounts, ensuring proactive, clear communication
- Build and strengthen relationships with customers, carriers, and vendors through reliability and responsiveness
- Develop pricing solutions that are competitive, market-informed, and aligned with profitability goals
- Partner with the International Sales team on RFPs, spot quotes, and project pricing
- Participate in customer touchpoints, including QBRs and ongoing market updates
- Maintain ownership of shipment financials, including managing positive and negative variances
Operations Execution
- Own the full shipment lifecycle—from creation through delivery and billing
- Track and trace shipments while coordinating with overseas offices and agents
- Ensure all documentation is accurate and complete across systems
- Manage invoicing processes and maintain a strong understanding of file-level financial details
- Continuously strengthen relationships with carriers and international partners
Compliance & Market Awareness
- Follow all compliance procedures to protect the customer and the business (NRAs, TSA certification, ITAR awareness)
- Stay informed on market trends, geopolitical impacts, and industry shifts to make sound, real-time decisions
- Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with a proactive, ownership mindset
- Clear and confident communication skills across customers, partners, and internal teams
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to price freight based on market conditions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) and CargoWise
- Familiarity with international freight operations required; broader knowledge of domestic or drayage is a plus
