SUMMARY:
Manages coordinated internal and external communications programs for PNM Resources, PNM and TNMP through customer advertising, public and media relations. Coordinates development of and manages digital and social media and company website. Manages companywide communications process calendar. Proactively shares PNM's story through internal and external communication channels. Ensures PNM marketing campaigns are aligned with image strategy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Implements corporate communication strategies, campaigns and tactics enhance PNM's image and goals
Manages priority communication and messaging calendar, target audiences, channels communication to meet stakeholder needs
Implements PNM image strategies, working in conjunction with PNM customer service, PNM community management, market/product management, and corporate leadership
Aligns customer communications, advertising and program management to best leverage image opportunities
Oversees implementation of advertising and customer communication strategy to positively impact the company's image, crisis communication management, customer satisfaction, product/program penetration and other corporate priorities
Manages an overarching image strategy for PNM; develops advertising and communications sub strategies in support of the overall brand and image architecture
Champions the company image across all operational and customer-impacting areas within the company
Implements customer communication and social media strategies to deliver against company image and program metrics (e.g., positioning, program penetration, efficiency goals, corporate leadership)
Manages advertising agency of record and supporting agencies and evaluate performance
Manages employee communication messages and channels, including intranet, emails, etc.
Coaches and mentors communication and advertising professionals to contribute to company objectives
Develops objectives and manage performance in alignment with corporate objectives

QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in business, journalism, communication, or a related field with five to seven years of experience in corporate or workforce communications and marketing, to include four years of management experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the discipline.
Master's degree is preferred.
Experience in marketing, successful communications and leadership are required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Must possess a current, legally valid driver's license and meet the company's driving record requirements.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Expert written and verbal communication skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, financial reports, and legal documents
Ability to write speeches and articles using original and innovative techniques
Ability to effectively give persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to various audiences
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to apply the concepts of fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Advanced knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software
ANALYSIS AND PROBLEM-SOLVING ABILITY:
Ability to thoroughly analyze issues facing the company. Understanding of business and social contexts, and creatively develop proactive strategies, plans and actions. Strong analytical skills to interpret and develop strategies from media, customer, operational and financial information. Ability to interpret complex information and data to identify root causes for problems and develop strategies and manage recommended actions. Ability to balance the needs and issues of multiple high visibility communities and target audiences simultaneously.
DECISION MAKING:
Contributes to and implements corporate communication strategies. Must be capable of collaboration with others primarily exerting influence through positive relationships as opposed to a position of authority. Responsible to commit to specific initiatives, communications and process enhancements to support the customer experience, brand and reputation as well as employee communication.
SCOPE AND IMPACT:
Manages the compilation of department and project budgets and manages overall budget performance. Communications are a critical element in various aspects of the business.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to stand or walk up to 1/3 of the time and regularly required to sit up to 2/3 of the time. Manual dexterity is required to perform computer applications and good vision is required to perform all aspects of the job. May occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. May need to be able to work hours outside of typical business hours to respond to and manage crisis communication. Must be able to attend networking events in evenings, mornings and weekends. May need to attend meetings and events on short notice.
