Job Description
The Conflicts & New Business Analyst (CNBA) provides administrative and screens drafting support to the Screens Team and the Conflicts and New Business Screens Manager (CNBSM). This support includes the preparation of screening memo drafts and building and implementing electronic screens in the Firms Intapp Walls system, with scope expanding as subject matter expertise is gained to include duties related to attorney access issues and compliance requirements. The role also includes compiling background reports from various Firm resources to aid in resolving potential screening issues. The CNBA may be responsible for other research and administrative activities needed to support the Screens Team, as well as opportunities to develop a broader understanding of the conflicts/new business intake process and acquire skills that would provide a foundation for advancement within the department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists in the drafting of ethical and lateral screening memos for review by screen sponsors and department personnel.
Review Outside Counsel Guidelines, Engagement Letters, and client waivers for screening requirements; ensure ethical walls are in compliance with these requirements.
Ensure that appropriate documentation is saved to electronic screens in the Intapp Walls system before implementation and distribution; assist in building and implementing walls in the Intapp Walls system.
Compile background report data for screen resolution issues; pull appropriate files and run reports as needed to obtain necessary information.
Analyze and interpret data to support problem-solving and resolve timekeeper-related issues.
Maintain thorough and accurate records and files in accordance with team standards.
Collaborate with Conflicts Staff Attorneys, fellow analysts and CNBSM to resolve access issues.
Support the CNBSM in conducting audits of the Firms ethical screens and providing quality control assistance for new and existing screens.
Communicate with requestors for additional information or clarification as necessary.
Provide excellent customer service and administrative assistance to Firm requestors and Screens Team.
Exercise sound judgment to recognize and escalate issues that require senior review or approval.
Identify and resolve matter data discrepancies, ensuring matter records accurately reflect the scope of work being performed.
Perform various special projects and additional duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
Required:
Bachelors Degree
Demonstrated ability to write and communicate clearly and concisely in a fast-paced environment
A minimum of 2 years of relevant research or analytical experience in a legal, professional services or academic environment
Ability to quickly and efficiently complete work with minimal errors
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat
Preferred:
Proficiency in Intapp Walls, Terms, and Intake/Conflicts
Proficiency in Microsoft SharePoint
Proficiency in database systems & queries

The target salary range for this role is:
$72,000 $90,000 if located in IllinoisSalaries vary by location and are based on numerous factors, including, but not limited to, the relevant market, skills, experience, and education of the selected candidate.
