We are looking for a Fund Development Date & Support Specialist to join our team! This position is responsible for overall management of the donor database and provides administrative support to the Philanthropy Team.

Hours: Full Time (37.5 hours per week) with flexibility Salary: $20.09/hour start, non-exempt

Location: Flexible/ Remote (South Elgin, Rockford, Oswego, IL)

Must be available to attend in person meetings wherever we may require within our geography.

This position is responsible for the overall fund development database management; for ensuring accurate gift processing and record keeping for all donations and donor records, performing prospect research and management; and to provide diversified administrative and staff support services of a confidential and responsible nature to the Fund Development Team.

Interested? Responsibilities would include:

  • Records all donations in Bloomerang database, including cash donations, pledges, pledge payments, grants and gifts-in-kind
  • Manages procedures, business processes, and documentation for all gift processing on a daily basis, including electronic donations
  • Identifies potential contributors to the council through research on individual donors, foundations, and corporations, and submits recommendations to the fund development team as appropriate
  • Ensures the accuracy and timeliness of gift receipts and acknowledgements to donors in accordance with IRS regulations
  • Generates reports from database information for internal and external purposes, including reports on philanthropic giving (e.g., total income, sources of income, types of gifts, commitments, etc.), and Key Performance Indicators (e.g., contacts made, solicitations made, etc
  • Facilitates access and provides database training to other members of the fund development team and the council
  • Manages all donor information, including overseeing the research and prospect management.
  • Attends and assists with Fund Development events, including pre-event work as well as support at the event.

Are these skills you could share with our team?

  • Shows initiative and has ability to work independently
  • Competency in fund development functions including strong knowledge of fund development database systems, Bloomerang preferred
  • Superior database and computer skills. Donor database experience preferred
  • Strategic approach to problem solving
  • Ability to work a minimum of 37.5 hours per week; weekends and evenings may be required
  • Must have a reliable vehicle for travel to other areas within the GSNI territory
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 1-3 years related work experience. 3-5 years of experience preferred
